Michaels — Local services in Forest Lake

DO NOT GET CURBSIDE HERE. I purchased something through them for a curbside pickup because I was in a hurry, so I needed to grab it fast on my way home.

I received the email stating it was ready for pick up. When I left work, I hit the "on my way" button and when I arrived I parked in the curbside parking spot marked, "1" then selected that in the email along with "I’m Here".

I sat there for over 10 mins then decided I was going to call them. Before the call went through, I saw an employee come out. She was looking everywhere but where the curbside pickup was then realized and came over to me. She asked for an ID (which the email did not say was necessary) and didn't seem to need the barcode that popped up after I marked, I had arrived. After she walked away, a woman knocked on my window (she was a customer). She said that "she saw me there when she went in and had to tell them I was outside. She had attempted to do a pickup a couple of months ago and it just doesn't happen". Ultimately, they don't have a process for this, so if you are choosing it because you are in a hurry, I would avoid it.

I also made a balloon purchase at the beginning of September and that was just as slow if not slower. It was a disaster between the employee not knowing how to do what was needed (couldn’t figure out how to tie the balloons and asked me if I knew how) and popping multiple balloons by mistake as he was filling them with helium. He was friendly, but clearly didn't know what...

I would give zero stars for accusing my FIFTEEN year old daughter of going in there to have sexual intercourse, as I was waiting in the car. She came out shaking,told me what happened so I marched right in there (I don’t have a mean bone in my body) and the manager said, “there was 2 boys in here & we thought she was going in to meet them to, ya know?” I said, “what, steal?” And she said,”no, to participate in sexual behavior in the bathroom & I didn’t know Mom was with.” I was in such disbelief. I called my mom & dad because I don’t think in my 40 years on Earth, I’ve ever heard of something like that. She did offer to apologize but Scarlett absolutely declined & will never go back. We went to a different Michael’s and she said she was paranoid the whole time. So thank you, whoever you are for scarring my 15yr daughter to thinking every store she goes in, she will be kicked out. I'm a crafter of over 30 years, a variety of mediums and typically I find Michaels stores sufficient for my needs. That said, the Forest Lake store I find lacking on product, variety and attitude. Granted the FL store seems to have a significantly smaller foot print, but as the closest craft store, they need to up their game to keep customers from driving by on their way to Hobby Lobby or another Michaels. The attitudes or demeanors of some of the staff are nonchalant to the point of being dismissive and rude. I've shopped at the FL a total of 5 times in the past 6 months because of convenience and each time walked out disappointed and I wasn't even looking for anything unusual! My next drive for supplies will be to the Stillwater store (great store) or Hobby Lobby. Do better FL Michaels, you need to in today's...
