Culver’s — Restaurant in Forest Lake

I understand that this is a fast food restaurant but their staff should be generous and kind. I was in a hurry and went through the drive through. I noticed that it was during super rush and asked them at the speaker area if they'd be able to make sure that my gluten free meal would be safe without any cross contamination since it's busy right now. The lady on the other side said "Yes, we have gluten free". I had to once again repeat myself and try to explain it better, I added that I also have Celiac Disease, so It will be very bad if I get just a little cross contamination. I then hear her say that their fries are not gluten free. Was that what I was saying? No!! So, once again for the 2rd time, I repeat myself only this time saying, "I know what is gluten free at this establishment, I know you have a gluten free bun etc.." and then I hear another voice pipe up and say in a very harsh tone "We cannot guarantee that LADY" Appalled by her tone & trying to be the kind one, I asked, " Is that in general or just because it's busy?" I was put on hold and had to repeat my question for the 3rd time, to another lady, probably the lady who rudely said she cannot guarantee my meal will be safe. After she explained that they can't guarantee it will be safe for me, I said thank you and just left. However, I was left feeling horrible. There was absolutely NO REASON for that lady behind the speaker to speak to me with that tone of voice and call me lady instead of Maam. They need to train their staff to be more generous and kind, specially to those patrons who cannot help but order a gluten free meal. As you may not know, there is absolutely 0 gluten free fast food places around that even slightly care enough to cater, so I like to support establishments who do, however, this one will NEVER be getting my business again. I have never been treated like filth like I was today. I broke down into tears on how they treated me. I barely want to give this restaurant a 1 star rating. I ordered two of the 3 piece cod dinners with fries and coleslaw in the drive thru, as well as two small Flavor of the Day, chocolate Health Bar concrete mixers for me and hubby. The cod were thick pieces and perfectly fried. I appreciate that they give you a lemon wedge and tartar sauce (in a container) without having to ask for it. I usually order the mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans for sides, but decided to change it up this time. Great coleslaw (in a container, so it doesn't get everything else mushy, thank you!) and fries too, and you get a dinner roll with butter. IMO its better than going to a fish fry, and cheaper too, especially if you only want two or three pieces of fish anyway. We each had enough fish for dinner and our lunches the next day.

Forest Lake Culver's is a great restaurant, clean and always pretty fast. They are always helpful and diligent when we need to order custard having food allergies, they use clean equipment to avoid cross contamination. Thank you!

Update: past two times we've been to this location the food was great, as well as the service. The bathroom really needs to be remodeled however.

Culver's is usually one of our family faves that we can always count on for good food and great burgers - that was until tonight. We recently moved to the area and this was our first time visiting the Forest Lake Culver's location.

We used the drive-thru at around 5:30PM this evening, and surprisingly it wasn't busy, with only one other car in line. The worker was rather grumpy however. She seemed annoyed, like it was a bother to take our order, and had a rude tone.

We ordered three butter burgers (one as a basket) that were lacking in both appearance and flavor. They were all greasy, thin and choppy, and just not cooked right, and the fries weren't fresh at all. My son will eat just about anything, but these fries were so bad that they went in the trash.

To sum up our service and food - the word sloppy is pretty spot on. Unfortunately, we'll think twice before visiting this location at dinner time again. It really was...
