I’ve been coming here for a while and I was typically a regular, coming in to decompress with a good book, getting crab rangoons (which are amazing) and sushi. I always tip really well and generally have a really good time but lately I’ve been busy so I haven’t been in in a while. Today I had the usual, but tried the pad thai(not authentic and sauce tasted like something you would dip your egg roll in) I really didn’t like it I’ve had pad Thai at a lot of places and I was polite as possible, even tried to doctor it up and asked for extra limes and chili oil but I just reaallly did not like it. And that’s fine, it happens, this isn’t the issue.
The issue is that when I tried to express my concern(which is already hard for me to do) the manager ignored me and walked away, and only the kind blonde server was understanding and helpful. When the server came back she felt awkward because the manager tried to make me pay for a dish that I had sent back. I felt so bad for her and said to say I expressly asked for it to be taken off. Then it took another ten minutes to get the bill which is probably not a coincidence. That manager was dismissive for the rest of my time there instead of nice like she was in the beginning.
This was such a weird and uncomfortable visit and I have never been made to feel this way. It was a 10$ dish. Says a lot about how they value their customers and returning regulars.
I’m not one to write bad reviews and I don’t want to be excessive here, but Save your money and go to Misono Asian bistro nearby or even amian in Hugo. Better food and drink, authentic pad Thai, and much better customer service. I’ll be going to one of those...
Read moreGiving three stars based just on the dishes that I get regularly. The sushi is fresh and well made, the chicken and noodles are tasty. Fried rice is pretty bland though and the egg roll is nothing to write home about. But the coconut shrimp is very good, it has the right amount of sweetness for a savory dish and the shrimp always have a nice fried crunch to them.
If I were rating based on the customer service it would have to be one star 😬 I say that as someone who has frequented this place many times and loves to give people a lot of grace because the food industry is hard! However, if there is consistent lack of civility towards customers on the phone and in person, then it’s time to get out of the business.
The young people working there are usually pretty nice, but they never stick around long. High turn over rate. The lady who is constantly short with customers seems to be the owner. I’m no expert, but it feels like she hates being there, which comes across pretty strongly in all her interactions. When you turn down a coupon because it’s a week past expiration, or argue with someone on the phone in front of customers, those are the things that leave a bad taste in people’s mouths. Which is a pity because it’s a nicely decorated place with a...
Read moreJust passing through heading back up north from a fun day. We stopped here to enjoy dinner at a new place we never have tried before. First, the service wasn’t great. I was asking about cooked sushi rolls because they weren’t separated on the menu. The server said 1,2, and 4 out of the 20 options. I asked again if that was all they had. She walked away from me and started helping another table mid order! She said I’ll be right back. And when she got back she didn’t answer my question. So I ordered the lobster roll in a panic and she said it was cooked but also talked about how some have half cooked and half raw. I was nervous it was going to come out and I couldn’t eat it. My boyfriend got his food (general Tso’s) within 2 minutes of ordering. And we had to wait 20 minutes for my sushi roll to come out. By then the table that came in after us had their food. The server dropped off the sushi and didn’t leave chop sticks or offer them. She then proceeded to tell me “it’s cooked” and walked away. Another server offered me chopsticks. Our server never came back until we walked up to the front to pay. The general Tso’s chicken tasted horrible, almost freezer burnt. However, the sushi was really good. Overall, we would not...
