Great Facility for Family Fun and for Individualized workouts! No matter the weather the C.V. Starr is a place to be physically active! This place has a two giant swimming pools, one for leisure, and one for competitive/exercise. It also has a water slide and a lazy river! & that's not all! It also has three different workout rooms two for classes (like zumba, yoga, spin, etc...) and another one large room containing exercise machines and other equipment. This place also has two more event rooms that can be combined for large meetings or parties or can be separated for smaller parties like birthday parties. Each room when used for birthday parties comes with free entrance to swimming for your guests! Oh and I almost forgot, the C.V. Starr also has creative classes like; tapestry arts, robotics, digital media fun, gymnastics, music, and much more... Individuals looking for a workout, to learn something new, to connect with others, or for aquatic fun will love the C.V. Starr community Center.

Visited the CV Starr center for a birthday and am always impressed by the magnificence of the entire project especially in light of where it is located. It’s a great place for parties, to swim and work out. They also offer classes in many different areas. It’s part of the local Rec district and one of the eight man made wonders to visit on the Mendocino Coast.

Exceptional! Fantastic! Held a birthday party there for my 10 year old grandson. Used their party room. Best party ever. Brought in pizza from Round Table. 3 hours of swimming, diving, water slide and moving river fun. Clean, great staff, observant life guards etc. Can't say enough. Prices were fair

In my opinion this place should NOT be called a community center. The costs of memberships are so high as to exclude even those who would be classified as middle class. Although even if the membership rates were more reasonable there are not any fitness classes or open swims available after 5 pm. So the only folks in the community who can utilize the facility are retired or independently wealthy. I remind the powers that be that a "community" includes a variety of people with a diverse socioeconomic portfolio and diverse work schedules. It is nice to have the lessons and swim meets for the kids in the community. But do they have to have the entire pool area every week night to the exclusion of all the other major demographics of people in Fort Bragg? Also, what is with the herding of people during splash/slide/swim? Every person there has to be doing the exact same activity all together until that activity closes and the next one begins and then everyone has to go do that activity. That to me is absurd! I thought if I could I understand the thinking behind that decision it would help because I just...

This swim lesson program is a complete waste of time and money. Their shocking 28% cancellation rate means you're frequently paying for classes that don't happen, and don't expect a refund for those missed sessions. Even worse, after several lessons, my child hasn't even been taught the basics of swimming, unlike other programs where kids are in the water and practicing by the third or fourth lesson. The lessons feel completely unstructured, and despite the coach claiming over 30 years of experience, she seems to have no idea what to do with the children. The already short 30-minute class is further reduced by 5-10 minutes of mandatory showering and check-in at the start. Forget about arriving early, as the class is scheduled right when they open. To add insult to injury, they have no problem waiting until you've wasted your gas to get there before canceling at the last possible moment. Save yourself the frustration and find swim lessons elsewhere – this program...
