Be AWARE. My husband and I have stayed at several “Baymont by Wyndham” establishments as we traveled from the east to west coast. Our experiences with Wyndham hotels have always been positive. I did look at the one picture of our room, which showed the king-sized bed and window (not our room). There were no other pictures offered and I wrongly assumed the rest of the room would be up to the standards which I had come to know as “Wyndham”. Here is my honest review for room 110 and the amenities provided by this hotel. The room was extremely small and had a king-sized bed, one hard plastic chair, one end table, and typical hotel size appliances. Surfaces to place your belongings (keys, watches, rings, cell phones, reading glasses, book, etc), consisted of one shelf under the only end table in the room. We used the ironing board as a makeshift table for our coffee cups. Inconvenient, yes, but since we were going to be sightseeing most of the day, doable. The bed linen and towels were clean. The bed was somewhat comfortable, however, it was on a metal frame. Accidentally bumping your foot against the sheet of metal around the base of the bed made a loud, thunderous, echoing noise. The exterior door did not have weatherstripping at the bottom, allowing for a 1 1/2 inch gap for cool night air, insects, and noise to easily enter the room. The electrical appliances (small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker), in the room were functional. We did not use the wall mounted television, nor the DVD player wedged between the tv and the wall. The room itself was basically clean, with the exception of the cobwebs on the ceiling above the bed and what appeared to be mold on some of the grout in the shower. The metal floor drain in the small shower was caved in and posed a potential risk for injury. The set of black out curtains on the windows were effective, although they were not a matched set (different lengths and color). The advertised “free breakfast of waffles, fruit, cereal, and more,” was non-existent. You had your choice of ‘breakfast bars’ and apples (some were old and bruised), with your morning cup of coffee. In writing reviews, I also feel like I should provide some suggestions to the owners. This room should have a queen-sized bed, fix the drain in the shower, match the black-out curtains, provide a second night stand if room allows, provide a second folding chair, adjust your website to accurately reflect the breakfast you provide. I am sure there are building codes and restrictions as to what you can do structurally, but consider converting one or two rooms into a breakfast area where people can sit at tables inside when the weather is not conducive to outdoor eating. A larger breakfast area may allow you to provide the type of breakfast you currently advertise. Bottom line for us, this room was “OK” for a 1-2 night stay. The price should reflect what the room and amenities are worth. In the current condition I’d say...

The room was cramped and lacked the little conveniences that make for a comfortable stay. The only furniture in the room was the admittedly comfortable bed and one nightstand - no chairs or table/desk. So, no place to sit and eat a meal or to put your personal items. No wastebasket in the bathroom and only one tiny towel rack to hold six towels. No other hooks or racks to hang clothes or wet towels to dry. No mirrors except a small one in the bathroom. No lighting in the dim, walled-off shower. A continental breakfast with only coffee, a few apples/bananas, and vending machine danish.

I had high hopes after Wyndham acquired and "renovated" this property. The only signs of renovation were a new sink/toilet/lamps and a slapdash coat of interior paint. Otherwise, the interiors were a bit shabby and worn, and various things didn't work. The bathroom window wouldn't stay open, and the bedroom window wouldn't stay shut - in the middle of winter. The bathroom door constantly got stuck. The heat stopped working during our winter stay (although the management fixed it the next day, to their credit). Also, like many motels, the front door is paper-thin and you will hear all conversations, car noise, the neighbor coughing and spitting right outside your door during COVID times, and the music that starts playing from the parking lot PA system at 6:30am (why?).

The worst part was the strong cigarette smoke smell in our "non-smoking" room. At first I thought it was from previous guests smoking in the room, but then I spotted an ashtray unfortunately situated right outside our door. All of the staff were taking their smoke breaks there, and it was getting in through the drafty door and the window that wouldn't close.

While the managers are nice people, you should avoid getting a room near their unit (#105) at all costs. It has an outside loudspeaker with a remote chime for the lobby doorbell/phone. You will hear it go off constantly at all hours of the day and night through those paper-thin doors.

I thought I was getting a good deal, but I wouldn't stay here again. Next time I will pony up a little more dough to stay at a property that's better-maintained and more...

I rented a room at this motel in my ex daughter in-laws name . Using my card . To throw a small suprise bday party for my wife . I had my ex daughter in law decorate the room because I could not get away from my wife without her finding out about the suprise . When I got to the room I walked my wife in it were I had my son my brother and my sons girlfriend waiting for us . To suprise her . We both were surprised the room was barely big enough for the people in the room already we squeezed in she opened her presents and then ten minutes after getting there I went out side for some air and out side was a woman we do not now . Who was drunk with her friends they two had a room near ours the lady wanted some cake . I told her it was a private party.she started yelling at us so I got everyone back in the room and proceeded to shut the door . When the lady come busting in it swinging on my son and his girlfriend. Then her friend came in . We managed to usher them out side . We're they screamed some more . We stayed in the room and two baymount employees . Came running to our room . They seemed like nice people . But the toys us that we were being kicked our of the room we hadn't Bern there not ten minutes and it was the last who was staying a couple rooms down who was causing the scene . Yet we were forced to leave . I asked about getting a refund for the room and he says the person whose name the room was under can get the refund . So I lost out on $115 for two nights . Because I only spent 10 minutes in the room . And my wife's suprise party was a bust . And I am going to throw her another party . But it's going to cost me more money of witch I realy don't have . The employees were just doing there job. But they could have tryed to listen to me a lite better or realized it wasn't our fault . But they're to mutch in a hurry to remove us from the room . I can't figure out how I can or if I can still get a refund after all it was my card that payed for the room. I've stayed here before the last visit was not bad. This visit was a nightmare . How about it baymount can I get a refund for at least one night . It was...

We were looking for a simple, unassuming hotel room for a stay in Fort Bragg over a 4 day weekend. We didn't need all the bells and whistles. Simple and clean was all we were looking for. Unfortunately, the Baymont fell very short. While the photos online show a nicely updated, basic motel, what we found was much less than that. The floor was covered in dirt and sand from the moment we arrived. Upon further inspection, we found extensive dirt build-up in all the corners of the room, indicating that the floor were rarely, if ever cleaned. There was no thermostat in the room. The windows were similarly dirty, with mud and debris caked in the window tracks. There was a baseboard heater and a wall mounted electric fireplace. Both heated the room, but there was no accurate way to control the heat, so it was freezing or sweltering hot. The bed was so bad it was almost funny. They replaced the typical wall-mounted bed frame with a wire/metal type frame that was wrapped in a thin metal skirting. Every time we would sit or move the bed would shift and make a loud metal clang. The mattress was abysmal. It was very thin and we could feel the springs. Instead of curtains, there was a pull down shade, so the options were totally darkness or complete exposure to the parking lot. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired (one waffle maker and some cereal), but at least there was coffee.

Unfortunately, our stay was everything less than perfect. I stayed here when I was little girl and we loved it so I decided to take my family here and it was not nearly the same. We had electrical wires showing, our “ocean view room” was a little silver from a behind a wall. Our view in the back window, was what looks like their storage of some sort, the window was broken, there were no screens on any windows. There was blood splatter on the ceiling or whatever it is. A fight broke out around 10:00. There was screaming, someone trying to get back in their room and shaking the door handle which what felt like shook our whole room. My baby was sleeping when this all went down. I tried to call the front desk to let them know what was going on and only to find out that she couldn’t help me so I called 911, who by the way, were very kind and responsive and shut down the fight as soon they got to the hotel. Also, there was a dog that kept barking. When there was a sign that specifically said, no dogs, no disturbances. They say they have an all exclusive continental breakfast but all that was arrived was cereal and bananas. It used to be such a nice place years ago and unfortunately because of this experience we will not be back.

The Baymont Hotel fits into the reasonable / comfortable category. The rooms were updated with the wood laminate floors, which are always better than carpet. Beds were comfortable and not overly soft, which seems to be the trend with hotels. The location is right in the middle of town, so you are close to the main areas with a short drive or a reasonable walk. Overall, if you need a room to sleep at the end of a fun day, the hotel works. Worth the stay and would stay again. Now, the gripes on the stay that are minor. The room lacked power outlets. That may seem like an odd one, but there was only 1 plug in the bathroom and a rather precarious power strip in the room. The 1 outlet on the lap was finky, and we stopped trying to use it. The breakfast was rather sparce and not really more than a snack offering. The internet is horrendous, so don't bother connecting. Last is more on the issues still around covid protocols and not having the room cleaned each day. That is not the hotels fault, but it is still an annoyance to be aware of.
