Where do I begin? So disappointed with Aldi on Commercial Blvd. We live in the neighborhood and it's usually an easy in and out. We don't stand in line and always used the self check out lines. I was told by the manager that they were going to get rid of self check out because people were stealing. Here's a bit of information I see all the time. People walking around with bags and filling them with groceries and walking out the entrance door. I've also seen people putting things in their personal bags, so the self check outs aren't the problem. The cashiers were always watching and I've never seen anyone cheating. Today, my partner went and no self check outs and 20 people in one line. Come on Aldi? So much for quick service. Not to mention the store was empty of so many items. Not acceptable! In addition, since you moved the fruits and vegetables near the front door, everything is rotten. Bags of spinach just put out and every one is rotten. Strawberries moldy. Bananas so beaten up we stopped buying them. I tried to speak to someone about the problem and was dismissed. I guess when you have low prices, you should get rotten produce served with an attitude. In addition to the produce rottening due to it's location by and always open front doors, the doors are open because the entrance is blocked by people trying to find produce that is not rotten. A real challenge lately. Finally, the whole egg thing is ridiculous. After the highway robbery you performed on all your customers during the shortage, the eggs are still $2.72 a dozen. I'm back to buying most of my groceries at BJ's, who have finally realized the prices needed to come down. I also finally sprung for Walmart+, so I can get quality deliverd to my front dorr. Aldi should live up to its low prices and quick services. I'm tempted to never walk in this store again and will try other locations, but if things don't change soon, we will started spending our $1000 a month at Bj's and Winn Dixie. So...
Read moreAldi's Grocery Store is a problematic experience. On one hand, the produce is fresh and cheaper than places like Publix and Safeway. On the other many of the products are way below average in taste and high in price, even when compared to the stores above. Their baked goods mixes are under the label, "Baker's Corner." I've tried about 5 separate products in this category and they are all bland and tasteless. Their baked products that are already made, like muffins, cakes and donuts are pre-frozen and, of course, lack any hint of freshness. All of their meats and fish are also frozen. The canned goods are cheap and are acceptable in taste, if you can bear the high sodium. The regular milk, eggs and butter are all cheaper than just about anywhere, although the lactose-free milk prices are fairly high. The store has German management and reflects that in many of the products. Their health brand, "Simple Nature," is almost universally tasteless. The advantages: low prices if you're selective enough. The disadvantages: missing many items you'd find in bigger stores, pre-frozen items, baked goods that are strictly below average and the fact that many of the low priced items are matched by smaller quantities, a fact you might characterize as bait-and-switch. As you would expect, the store is mainly frequented by senior citizens and immigrants, making it a good alternative to stores like Publix, which is almost a monopoly in Florida and thus, high prices are the norm. The staff is polite...
Read moreI arrived at this store location (1707 E Commercial Blvd) today 18FEB, at approximately 130pm; and noticed a line of people waiting outside, and noticed that the entry doors were blocked with a row of shopping carts which had yellow tape around them and there were signs posted on the door stating that the store was temporarily closed. In speaking with several of the people waiting in line I learned that the employees had advised that the store would reopen at 2pm. One of the customers waiting in line stated that she had witnessed someone being taken away from the store in an ambulance, so there was obviously some sort of incident which occurred. Upon entering the store when it reopened I immediately smelled a very strong and pungent chemical smell, which was very evident throughout the entire store throughout my entire shopping experience. And when I walked by the freezer section I noticed that several of the freezers were covered up with black plastic and tape. At any rate, when I got home I put my groceries away and later opened my cupboard where I had placed several items which I had just purchased and I was very disturbed to smell the same pungent odor which I had smelled in the store earlier in the day. It was obvious that the items which I purchased were emanating the foul chemical smell. I will be contacting Aldi customer service to voice...
