I have to start out and say that I had high hopes for this place when it came to fixing my Kitty; and while I feel like for the most part they did a great job as far as the surgery goes, there were a few things that would deter me from recommending them to anyone who wants to get their pet spayed/neutered. We are told in the preliminary email that all cats need to be in a hard sided carrier when brought the day of surgery. Okay, totally fine. What we are not told is that the kitties (obviously aside from actual surgery time) will be remaining in that carrier for the duration of the day (8am-3pm) even post op to heal and relax. I feel like this should be made evident to people because I was under the assumption they had cages to put them in so that theyâre not packed into this tiny uncomfortable carrier for hours. So if you do go here: make sure to put your cat in bigger carrier and not a smaller transport carrier so they have plenty of space to feel comfortable. Number two, and this really frustrated meâŠ.when I picked up my cat I noticed they had placed a pee pad in the carrier but that there was a strong smell of urine. I get home and when he walks out of the carrier his entire bottom, belly, and legs are SOAKED and he wreaks of urine. This means he was laying in his own pee for who knows how long, and heâs obviously out of it post op due to anesthesia so he doesnât know any better than to not lay in it as cats normally wouldnât do. I understand that theyâre very busy on surgery days and I really do appreciate what they are doing for the cat community at Purrr. At no point when I interacted with the employees did I feel like they didnât care about the cats, and I realize that theyâre trying to do this for the community at a reasonable price, but that doesnât mean leaving them in that condition. I feel like this is a huge oversight. If the cats are going to be left in their carriers for hours they should at least be checked on to make sure that theyâre not sleeping in their own waste. I hope they find ways to rectify these issues because otherwise, I feel like itâs a great facility for a great cause. But I just want other cat owners to be aware of my personal experience so they know what theyâre...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with Purr Sanctuary. Despite being a spay and neuter clinic, they refused to neuter my 10-month-old cat simply because he was "aggressive." I dropped him off at 8 a.m. as scheduled, only to receive a call at noon informing me they wouldnât proceed with the procedure. Itâs shocking that a clinic specializing in such procedures cannot handle a young, stressed kitten. Cats often display aggression out of fear, especially in unfamiliar environments, and a truly professional team should be equipped to manage such situations.
This lack of professionalism and compassion is unacceptable. If your cat has any behavioral challenges, I would not recommend trusting them with your pet. Don't...
