MISSION BBQ — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

I am a fellow Texan, and I flew to Ft Lauderdale to visit two dear friends. So they offered to take me to have BBQ, but I was hesitant because BBQ outside of Texas is a "No Try Zone" for me. But finally, I reluctantly said yes..so we headed over to Mission BBQ. To my shock, as I walked through the door, there was Texas inspired credits displayed on the Menu board!!! 🤠 While I was smiling with a sigh of relief, I was gently approached by a staff member who asked was it my first time there. As soon as I said yes, Amanda proceeded to carefully explain the ordering process and the types of meats that were available and the sides. She patiently let me ponder, and then she said I can let you taste before you order. I immediately asked to taste the brisket, which is the deal breaker for me. She confidently asked the staff to serve up a piece of lean and marbled brisket, and to my surprise, it melted in my mouth to where I closed my eyes and savored the smokiness and tenderness of that dry rubbed brisket. I was sold!!! I ordered up that brisket (mixed lean/marbled) and added their jalapeño & cheese sausage with a side of greens Mac n cheese and baked beans. They hit me from every side with the various seasonings and flavors that I'm used to coming off of our pits and out of ourTexas kitchens!!! Amanda made SURE that I would make my way back to Ft Lauderdale and dine at Mission BBQ again by the 4way she kept checking to see if I was still enjoying my smorgasbord with that sweet confident patient customer service of hers and continuously complimenting the staff and how very PROUD she was of them and their cooking talents!!! I highly recommend this place to everybody wo comes to town, and if you get the chance to meet Amanda, please let her know that I am still spreading the good...

As a disabled veteran and also a postal employee I didn't know this location was just 5 miles from my job. When I entered this location the customer service was exceptional. I was greeted by the awesome staff. I was undecided on certain sides so the cashier Gabby assisted me with a smile. I then wanted a ribeye just say Manny on the back-end by the grill made sure I had the fatty marbled piece I wanted. Me just being a phat kid as the manager Jamari was packaging me up with some of the good sauces Manny was in the back cutting up a nice juicy brisket the manager Jamari asked if I wanted to taste it cause I was asking about it and I ended up adding to my meal and purchasing some brisket also. I just want to say the customer service is top tier in this location. I really loved the energy from walking in the door not all places give great customer service but I smiled & was valued from beginning to ending not because I'm a veteran but I felt that these employees showed that they want their customers to be satisfied completely. I believe they are a great asset to the company because they provided awesome top tier customer service treated each customer with nothing but respect and equally as O waited for my food and that's rare now days. I been to other locations for this company but this the first location that was so welcoming and gave top tier service. I just wanted to take a moment to recognize and deeply thank Loretta at Mission BBQ for the incredible experience she gave us today. From the moment we stepped through the door, Loretta greeted us with a smile that instantly made us feel welcome and cared for. Her energy is so warm, comforting, and genuine—it’s the kind of presence that immediately brightens your day.

Throughout our entire visit, Loretta was not only attentive and professional, but also incredibly thoughtful. She checked in on us at just the right moments, anticipated our needs without us even having to ask, and carried every interaction with kindness and sincerity. You could tell she wasn’t just doing a job—she was truly serving with heart. It felt like we were guests in her home.

What stood out most was how effortlessly she made a simple meal feel like a special occasion. She took the time to chat with us, made us laugh, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever rushing us. In a world that often feels fast and impersonal, Loretta reminded us of the power of genuine hospitality and human connection.

Mission BBQ is lucky to have someone like Loretta representing their team. Her passion for people and pride in her work shine through in everything she does. We’ll absolutely be back—and we’ll be looking forward to seeing Loretta again!
