My son was starting here for afterschool on his first day of school, kindergarten. The director did not make sure he got off the bus, luckily a friend of mine happened to be there and let me know he didn't. My husband and I showed up at BE to locate where my son was. BE director had assumed my friend was sons mother, didn't check me or my husband to ID to confirm we were who we said we were. Additionally, she couldn't tell me what the process was for getting kids off the bus, she doesn't take attendance and assumed my child was asleep. OK so what then? What if he was asleep? Does he get left on the bus indefinitely? He is 5. Still unanswered questions --- what is done to make sure children get off at their afterschool bus? When would I have been told that my son didn't get off at his stop? Back to school is crazy --- what is your system of checks and balances to ensure children are where they should be? No real response or solution given other then "its the first day of school and it can be a crazy busy time" You are aware back to school is crazy, shouldn't you be even more prepared? The bus was called back to BE to drop my child and we of course waited around. Once he arrived, we decided we wanted to see what the inside of the facility was like mostly to ascertain any further red flags. The first thing I noticed was that there were children EVERYWHERE, there were no locked doors between classrooms, bathroom doors were opened. We were turned over to maybe a 5th grader to "show us around", he took us to an empty (no teacher, no children)"kindergarten" room and we were left there to explore on our own. One of our neighbors children found us (a first grader) and asked if we wanted to walk around with him, so we did. We promptly noticed the back door of the school was propped open with a brick. He took us to the gym to look around, teenagers looked up from their IPads as we entered and then went back to what we were doing - again, not ascertaining what we were doing there or who we were. Meanwhile, children are running around everywhere. Our first grade friend asked if we wanted to see the playground outside. We exited the front door, went down the sidewalk, and to the back of the building with a child that wasn't ours. (keep in mind this location is less then a mile from 77 and right behind a busy QT) The director followed about 3-5 minutes later to see what we were up to - again, not asking who we were to this child.
Later, when I spoke to the director one on one there were no solutions or explanations given other then "back to school is a crazy busy time". She was however astute enough to know that I would not be sending my child there and offered a refund.
I have seen better safety measures at an...
Read moreThis is our first year at Blooming Einsteins! We initially signed up our boys (6yo and 8yo) for a few weeks of summer camp as a trial. It took us one week of hearing their excitement and telling us how much fun they had to decide we would sign them up for the rest of the summer, and we have no regrets! Our boys come home happy and exhausted every day! They take the kids on so many trips and engage them in STEM and crafts throughout the day. My husband and I both work full-time, so we usually can't pick them up until 6-615pm during the week. Most days, our boys get mad at us when we come to pick them up and say we came too early because they want to stay and play longer 😂
Our boys also love all of the staff at Blooming Einsteins! Ms. Tanya is super kind and welcoming. Our youngest can be challenging at times and Ms. Tanya and the staff are so patient and kind to him. Most days, I find him in Ms. Tanya's office hanging out, perfectly content building legos, if he has had a rough day. Although he still has his moments, he has really blossomed since being at Blooming Einsteins!
We love BE so much that we have signed our boys up for after school care! We have been recommending to all of our friends and would recommend this place to anyone in the community. It truly feels like one of the best kept secrets in Fort Mill for childcare and engagement! We're so happy we...
Read moreI am the traffic control person for Tega Cay Elementary School. As such I have the opportunity to observe all the school bus drivers and after school program drivers. From day one I have observed the Blooming Einsteins driver. Consistently as she drives by she gives a cheeful smile and hearty wave. The other drivers a half hearted wave at best. The Blooming Einstein driver appears to put safety as her paramount concern. She is so friendly yet professional I called and discovered that her name is Ms. Lee and is the school's director. I can not help but think if she is this good the rest of the staff must be as well following her example. I am far past the age of having children in school but if I did Blooming Einsteins would be at the...
