Was really excited to try this place after reading the reviews but left disappointed. While our server was great it seemed he was the only one running the restaurant and was kept very busy. Unfortunately we were unable to get his attention when we came across some issues. First being the the cheese dip came out barely warm. Couldn't find anyone to help us to let them know as the other servers refused to give eye contact. So by the time our food came out which also a long while the cheese dip was hardened and we asked the bus boy to heat it up for us. When the food came out the beans and rice again were barely warm. Beans were dry and lacked seasoning. While the rice looked good it lacked so much flavor. I noticed the portions were incredibly small like lunch portions even though it was dinner. The food wasn't really authentic mexican to me. The sopa de Pollo again barely warm and had way too much rice and barely any broth. The chicken was delicious though. The kids meal came out pretty charred and burnt again while our server was kind he was no where to be found seeing he was running the restaurant and pulled every else. Anyways 50 bucks later for just 1 adult entree and 2 kids meals for cold food is disappointing. Maybe they were having an off day. I suggest train your staff better the young servers hanging out avoiding tending to their tables doesn't help. The bus boy was the best helper out of all the servers. I doubt I'll give this establishment...
Read moreI give this new mexican grill restaurant in fort mill area 10 🌟 Top Notch!! This is one restaurant that I can revisit tomorrow because the food, service, and atmosphere were Exceptional!
The atmosphere is so vibrant and inviting with the amazing painting on the walls!
This was my 1st time visiting tonight with friends and let me just say this, Mr. Rayo Mexican Grill did not disappoint at all! I had the mixed fajitas with chicken and steak!! The chicken, steak, and veggies were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Hands down, the best I have ever had!! 🤤
My friend had the veggie taco salad because she is a vegetarian. She said that it was scrumptious! She said that only thing she would change is have the black beans on top of the salad instead of the bottom because the juice from the beans made the taco shell a little soggy! Also, we had guacamole! 🥑 It was delicious 😋
Lastly, my other friend had the steak quesadilla and rice.. He said it was mouthwatering!! The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. He also said that rice was excellent, not overcooked or undercooked but just right.
Mr. Rayo Mexican Grille, thanks for an excellent experience tonight! I will definitely be back!!
Everyone, please try this restaurant out for yourself, it has so many food options.. I promise you will not be...

The tortillas weren’t even cooked, and there was a weird white cheese sauce on top that looked like it came out of a can. It made the enchiladas look like plastic. The inside had no cheese at all, just shredded chicken that was extremely dry and chewy. The salsa is either made days before or comes out of a can because they poured it out of a plastic container into our bowl to refill it which made me lose my appetite.
My daughter just got a hot dog because she’s 6. It was a very strange looking hot dog. Like it was boiled or something. But I’m not going to dog a Mexican place because of its hot dogs.
My husband got shrimp tacos and the shrimp were overcooked.
All in all, this place is 100% NOT authentic. I believe they use a lot of premade ingredients and their food tastes like a kid made it. I also think they make a lot of food and let it sit out for a while and then reheat it. That’s just how it tasted. The pricing is also quite expensive for the quality that you’re receiving.
Probably won’t be back which sucks because the owner...
