Today I had a very unpleasant visit at the Home Depot in Fort Pierce. From the beginning, I did not feel welcomed. I saw a floor model that I wanted to buy and walked up and asked if it was for sale. I was told that it was sold, and that I could not buy it. When I asked about other ones and other sizes, they did not care about helping me find another one or seem to want to help me at all. as I was getting ready to leave the store, I noticed that the item had been put back to its original position. At that point I went back over to the service desk and asked them if it was for sale. They told me they weren’t sure and said they would look into it. They came back and told me that it was. I had asked him if I could get a 10% discount due to the condition that it was in. It had scratches on it and one of the drawers weren’t open correctly. I Was told Yes and then they took me to check out. At checkout they told me that the price that was on it could not be honored because it had expired. In certain situations, I can understand it, but this unit has had the same sticker on it for months, and when the lady told me I expired, I asked how can you tell if it’s expired? She said because of the date that’s on it. The date the price tag was January 28th. Today is February 10th! So they’ve had this price on it For two weeks and had not removed the paper. They told me that they would only sell it to me for the sale price and we’re not going to honored the discount they promised. I have been a Home depot pro member as well as a credit Card member for many years and the customer service I was shown today was terrible. The attitudes of everybody that I encountered was terrible. The discount issue is what made me write this, but the attitude from the beginning was making me think of writing a review. The price issue was the topper. Absolutely terrible. I was by the young sales associate that the manager said No. Instead of the manager coming and talking to me she sent a young girl over to tell me instead of coming over herself. I asked her the managers name and she told me that the managers name was Jasmine. If you are not gonna honor something Jasmine, you should come and talk to the customer directly especially when it’s because of a sign that you as a manager should be having your employees take down and the fact that that sign stayed on for over two weeks is unacceptable and it should not be my fault. . I will be canceling my Home Depot credit card and my Pro account and be going...
Read moreToday I went to the Ft. Pierce Home Depot store to purchase a grill. I purchased a Weber grill and accessories totalling $561.62 which included a 15% coupon on the purchase. I got home and the hose on the grill that connected to the gas did not connect properly and gas spewed out everywhere. Therefore I had to return it. No big deal - things happen. I returned it within 30 minutes of purchasing it. They offered to give me a new one but I asked if a rep could make sure the hose worked before I took it home so that it doesn't happen again. After 20 minutes of waiting for a rep, there was still none available to help, so I just said forget it and told them to refund my credit card for the entire purchase. Once that was done I asked if I could regain my 15% coupon so that I could use it on my next purchase since this didn't end up being a purchase at all. The Manager, Susan, first said she couldn't do that because the coupon was destroyed. So I asked her if she could write me a coupon and sign it so a store rep would honor it next time. She agreed but would not write 15% on the back of the paper. She refused to put the amount of the discount on the paper and only wrote, "call me regarding your discount" and put the store telephone number on it. I said well that doesn't really indicate the discount that I forfeited and that I wasn't even asking for her anything EXTRA for all of my troubles, just simply the discount that I was sent to me in the mail. Susan, the manager refused to honor the 15% discount in writing. Unbelievable after all my troubles of driving to the store, waiting for help, purchasing the grill, loading in my car, taking it home, putting it together, only to redo it all in order to take it back. Needless to say I will NEVER shop at a HOME DEPOT again since that is how they are trained to treat...
Read moreOrdered a Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in Fort Pierce, with home delivery, installation and removal of the old washer and dryer. When the delivery company arrived they saw I had a flight of stairs with a chair lift attached. They committed that the washer and dryer could not be delivered because they would not fit. The measurement across the stairs and chair lift seat was 26 1/2 inches wide. The old washer was 25 1/2 in wide (leaving 1 inch of room to remove). As the delivery and installation person measured the old dryer I watched him place his finger in front if the dryer and tape measure as he measured stating the dryer was too wide. I told him I measured it at 25 1/2 “ and he lashed out saying “is your tape measure different then mine. I guess mine was since I didn’t have my finger at the end of it, adding an additional 1” . I was then told to call Home Depot again and reschedule a new delivery. When I checked my order status later I saw it was canceled with no notice or explaining. When I called Home Depot to find out why I was told the delivery company said they could not lift the washer and dryer up the stairs, so in their minds it was undeliverable. Nice going on customer service Home Depot and delivery company. I will no longer do business with Home Depot. I recommend Costco or Lowe’s!!! Very disappointed in Home Depot and it’s delivery company with...
