THIS IS WHAT OUR COUNTRY HAS COME TO!!!! Such a disgrace on so many levels. I had a doctor's appointment today & decided to reward myself with a miniature shopping spree. ($500 ) Anyway I came to the front check out and there was one Hispanic lady ahead of me. She walked up to the cashier shown in this picture and said something in Spanish all while pulling a pair of shoes out a bag and handing her a receipt. The Burlington employee shown here in the picture gave her a grimly look and grabbed the shoes and scanned them and said your total is $11 and held out her hand like give me the money. The lady (customer) said oh no and spoke something in spanish all while picking up the shoes again and motioning to the lady as if she was trying to give them to her also pointing to the receipt again. Now I'm no genius by any means I do however have a master's from TWU in business. I don't work with the general public nor do I speak a lick of Spanish (I know how to count to 10 in Spanish however). I am a black American born & raised in Little Rock Arkansas. I could clearly tell the lady was trying to return the shoes. The employee SCREAMED at her WHAT IS IT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS DO YOU WANT TO BUY IT OR NOT!!! I was in total disbelief. The lady (customer) then hunched her shoulders like I don't know what you just said but she picked up the receipt again and handed it to the lady(employee). The lady( employee) held the receipt in one hand and the shoes in the other and screamed YOU HAVE A receipt and some shoes let's all hope you are trying to say you want to return these. So she finally scanned the receipt and the shoes and said OK you will get $5.99 back since it's been past the 30 days the lady nodded her head (Yes). The employee then went on to scream DID YOU GET THAT. The lady just stood there in confusion. The employee then said Oh my God here's another one and angrily GRABBED the store intercom to page an Hispanic employee. The girl (hispanic employee) came and she told the girl I'm guessing she wants to return these can you tell her she will only get $5.99 back since the 30 days have passed. So the Hispanic employee interrupted to the lady and the Hispanic employee said she(customer) said that's fine she knows. So she went on to return and refund the money on a gift card. When the lady (customer) walked off she (Employee in picture) said Good grief!!! Obviously she forgot she lived in a diverse country. That treatment should not be tolerable. No professionalism in sight at all. The fact that this specific location is located in a Hispanic mall and to know that the majority of their customers are Hispanic and they are being treated like third world aliens is saddening. I actually was able to record this racist girl on video as well and will be posting on YouTube i also have her name from my receipt as well and I will be posting this all over social media as well as sending it to our local news. Read moreTerrible experience, uninformed staff, ceiling all jack up with tiles missing and the shelves were more reminiscent of a garage sale rather than a department store. I entered this ghetto establishment simply because a co-worker listed it as their favorite place to shop and I wanted to get them a gift card for a secret Santa celebration. When looking up directions online I noticed a promotion offering $5 bonus card for every $50 purchased in gift cards. When I arrived the same promotion was posted on the front door, on top of various shelves and every single register had the promotion advertised next to the gift cards. Upon checking out, before my card was swiped I asked the cashier how to get the $5 bonus card, she replied, “It will be on there”, I pay and walk out, start examining my receipt there is nothing on there about the extra $5. Go back in and inquire about how to get the extra $5. Cashier Vanessa claims to not know anything about the promotion so why did she say “it will be on there”? How can an establishment of this size be running such a promotion yet your staff has no clue about it? Vanessa calls a manager to the front, I wait about 5 minutes and no manager comes. Some boy comes spends about 15 minutes trying to issue me a new $5 gift card, claims he can’t get it to work. I asked him to void the entire transaction and start over but he claimed the result would be the same, that he didn’t know how to get the $5 bonus card on there. I say that’s okay I’ll wait for the manager because surly they know what’s going on. Boy claims manager is on a conference call and won’t be available for one to two hours.
I left my phone number for a call back. If I receive a call back I will delete this post. However the establishment I work for offers $10 gift cards for every $50 purchased and this type of behavior/experience would never be tolerated at my place of work. Read moreThis dirty store needs a zero ! The workers are so nonchalant with no kindness at all !! Went into the store around 8:56pm online and on the door it states that the stores close at 10pm. As I’m shopping the loss prevention gervonie walks up to me at 9:28 in an extremely rude way to tell me we are closed and that I need to leave because I can’t purchase my items ! I asked him why didn’t he tell me that when I walked in especially since he looked at me directly in my face when I entered the store and he didn’t even speak. I was able to purchase my item so he lied to get me out obviously!! Then when I get the register Miguel acted as if he didn’t want to ring anybody out. We had to ask him to come ring us up especially since we are being rushed out the store ! The black woman HAD NO CARE IN THE WORLD ABOUT HOW I WAS RANDOMLY DISRESPECTED!! The entire store was disgusting including the workers ! Nothing was organized and it was so dirty ! Being short staff is not my problem and I shouldn’t have been talked to rudely or rushed out the store 40min early because of short staff I will never shop at this Burlington EVER AGAIN the customer service is disgusting and so was the store !!! And they still in the store. I sat here and saw multiple customers walk up and couldn’t get in they made us leave early so they can leave exactly at 10 !!
