My daughter made me an appt with her favorite nail tech (who I haven't met, so I don't know them). When I got there, I told the front desk man that I had an appt with Philip, and he told me to write it down, so I did. He proceeded to take me back to the chair and a man came over to start my Pedi, and a woman to do my Mani. I knew this wasn't right, since I knew the man was supposed to do my nails. So, after a few minutes, I finally noticed the name tag. It wasn't Philip. I texted my daughter to tell her, and she ended up calling and telling them. First, someone called me on the phone (from citrus) asking where I was for my appt. I told the woman I was already there getting started on my pedi, and she was like, why didn't you tell us? And I was like, I did. And y'all apparently just ignored me. And she said okay, bye. And that's it. Didn't offer to correct the situation. So THEN, another lady came and spoke to me in person and apologized, and ALSO asked why I didn't say anything, and I told her I did, I told the man who my appt was with, and I also wrote it down plainly on my paper that was sitting right there in plain site. And then I explained that since I don't go there, I don't know who anyone is, I've never met Philip, so I wouldn't know if Philip was who was working on me or not. So she was polite and apologized. I'm not trying to cause any trouble or hurt the feelings of my nail techs so I didn't make a stink about it. The thing that really angered me was she lied to me. She saw I was getting gel, so she made the excuse and flat out lied, and told me that Philip couldn't do my nails anyways, because he doesn't do gel, he only does dip. I just said okay, because I'm not about to accuse her of lying. So I told my daughter to ask him directly at her own appt later the same day, so she asked Phillip if he did or didn't do gel, and he said of course he does gel, why would she ask. So she told him what the other lady said, and he said she lied to me (which we already knew). Needless to say, this was terrible customer service and I won't return. I ALSO will say, the nail techs I did have were wonderful. None of this was their fault, and they were very nice, friendly, and did a...
Read moreWill not be returning. Very nice employees, but the lady who did my pedicure was not able to talk and work at the same time, so she just kept talking to the tech next to her (which is fine. I don’t care about that). Well, instead of working on my feet, she held my foot there and would just caress my toes in a very uncomfortable way. Just held my toes and would just lightly touch them with her fingers. Not a massage, but a very light caressing of JUST THE TOES. It made my skin crawl and I had to pull back my foot. She thought I was ticklish, but I just knew if I kept my foot there I may end up kicking her. I know this makes me sound like a Karen, but I cannot describe how awful it feels to have a stranger VERY GENTLY caress your TOES. No, she was not painting, massaging, or even clipping. She just held my toes in her hand and would lightly brush the tops of my toes with her thumb. Also, if you take a peek in their work boxes, it looks as if nothing has been cleaned in a long time. I get by the end of the day it’s a little messy, but my friends and I were the first ones there.
TL:DR
Pretty dirty place and the nail tech seemed like she had never given a pedicure before. Not because I’m picky, but because it looked like she was just learning how to do it by watching the tech next to her. It was just pretty bad. She also put two different gel colors on my toes (just asked for one) and got the surprise charge afterwards. Swear I'm not an entitled Karen, it was...
Read moreI found Citrus Nail several months ago and was thrilled by the dip manicures I got from Phillip. I would have given five stars but one particular Sunday I had a 2 pm appt. my tech was still working on another customer but I was told it would just be a five minute wait, After 20 mins I reminded them of my appt time, they brought me the drink menu and said it would be a few minutes. A wait of another 20 minutes for my appointment to start. I felt a 40 minute wait with no apology was worthy of a comment because I had an appt and felt it should have been honored professionally.
The tech did an amazing job as usual but I was up charged for a design where no design was done. I asked why the upcharge and was told that my almond shape always has a higher price. It certainly didn’t the first six months of my almond shape. The reply was “you got lucky, it’s always 15 dollars more.”
My nails didn’t last a week and started lifting quickly. I tried two more appointments with the same results. My dip nails were lifting after three days so I went to another salon and just had them removed where they told me that my nails were filed down much too thin and to give them a rest with products. So I am now only getting manicures with clear polish while my nails get healthy again.
Two stars because it started out good but went down...
