So I’ve been going to swig for 10+ years having moved here from Utah where they started. Easy to say I am a big fan and was excited when they opened here. I go probably twice a month, so not the biggest client but definitely a regular. The last two times I’ve gone they have forgotten parts of my order. First we ordered the pretzel bites to try. The line was long and by the time we got to the front and got our drinks they handed them to us and told us “have a great day!” And we drove off. Ok that was partially our bad for not remembering.
Today however, we got our order for 3 drinks and we asked for one of the new peppermint cookies but we were informed they are all out and asked if we wanted a normal sugar cookies. We declined. Total was $17 which raised a little red flag for me…… I asked them for a receipt so we could check why it was so much and the lady said we would get it at the window. Again, long lines and by the time we got to the window we left without the receipt. Once we got home we remembered and put our order into the app to check pricing and lo and behold we were charged for a cookie that we were told was sold out.
I don’t know if employees are being overworked and making mistakes, I don’t know if they are being told to input extra items and not fulfill them in order to make extra money for the store, or if the employees are simply not trained on their PoS system and don’t know how to remove items and I just ended up being the one to pay the price (literally). No matter the reason, I am a frustrated customer and I am extremely hesitant to go back to this location which is unfortunate as this is by far the closest location to me. I guess I’ll just stick...
Read moreLet’s talk cups. Styrofoam. Not paper. Not plastic. Styrofoam. The moment that frosty white cup hit my hand, I knew I was in a place that values structural integrity and insulation supremacy. My ice stayed ice. My drink stayed dignified. That cup said, “I’m not just holding your soda — I’m holding your future.”
But all jokes aside, the thing that really made Swig feel different was the service. Sarah, the MVP of soda slinging, greeted me with a smile — and trust me, I was asking rookie questions. “What’s the legal limit on how many cream pops one human can safely consume in a single sitting… asking for a very hungry friend who looks exactly like me.” “Is it weird if I order three cookies with no drink?” “If I mix two drinks and it turns out amazing, do I get to name it and become a local legend?”
She answered every question without even a hint of judgment. Pure grace under pressure. In that moment, Swig didn’t feel like a soda shop. It felt like a safe place. A fizzy sanctuary. My carbonated home.
And yes, even though I had already ordered, I spotted the “Shark Attack” on the menu afterward and immediately knew I had made a critical mistake. A kids drink? Maybe. But it comes with a gummy shark, and that’s the kind of innovation I support with my whole heart and wallet. So yes—I will be back. And I will be ordering the Shark Attack with no shame and extra ice.
Swig, you beautiful bubbly wonderland. You had me at Styrofoam. You kept me with cream pops. But you won me...
Read moreUpdate now weeks later same problem broken door still. Poor property management for a new building/establishment. Lobby door constantly broken meaning inside is closed. Several times I have noticed the manger will call for a position or station change to employees when they are busy. This means employees are changing their job duty mid order making in the back. 2 x now when the lobby was open the manager and an employee would be sitting at the high top table working on things meaning paying customers particularly larger groups can not use the table designed for them. Do your office work in the back please. This was not an interview they were both in uniform. Drive thru is set up horrible for amount of space to enter and exit plus the divider makes turning into drive thru while not sticking out and blocking traffic a risk to many cars for the turning radius required.I watch several cars hit the median curb one side or the other trying to enter a maroon drive thru lane, hence why I like to go in. We like the drinks when they are made correctly. The employees barring the manager are all kind. The manager is not rude just not...
