This should have been posted a few weeks ago. This is for not the store in general, but a specific employee who had the worst attitude I have ever experienced in all my years of customer service & should be fired immediately! I do understand we have bad days, but I waited to post this to see if it occurred again & it did. I have called the manager but they said they only work during the weekdays. I’ve always loved to shop here & have had wonderful shopping experiences before they moved to their new location over the railroad tracks. I drove over an hour to take some clothes to resell to this establishment a few weeks back. I proceeded to sign in & I gave them 2 small Walmart bags of clothing. Some of which still had the new tags on them, & very much what they are selling on their racks right now. They had an hour and a half before they closed, (I could tell they were fully staffed after I spoke with them.) One of the girls said that they had a long wait & that I would need to come back tomorrow. I went on to explain how far I drove & the other young lady said, “let me see if we can fit you in.” I’ve seen them slammed before, with tons of items everywhere & there was absolutely nothing anywhere around the counter, except one small tote on the floor. The young lady that had said I needed to come back tomorrow took the clothes from the other young girl. As I stood there waiting to see what she was going to say, she said she was going to call somebody & that she was so sick and tired of something to her co-worker. I couldn’t make out the rest but she rolled her eyes. I noticed she started rummaging through them, so I figured she was looking them up so I want browsing. A few minutes passed & the other young lady that told me she could try & fit me in called out my name. She stated that none of the items they were taking right now due to the style & also the shoes were too creased. Let me tell you! I marched right over to the racks & found almost identical jeans of all the ones in my bags and the men’s shoes they had on the shelves, were no where near as nice as the ones I had brought that day. I couldn’t believe it! I didn’t say a word to the young ladies and I left. Fast forward to last week. Of all places my daughter wanted to go look to shop for her homecoming dress was here & the mall. I didn’t tell her about my encounter so, I took her anyway. As soon as we walked in the door there were five employees, at the front desk. Two checking customers in and looking up pricing, two tagging, & one walking the clothing out to sell onto the floor. All employees spoke & were extremely helpful, except for that same young lady. My daughter ended up even buying her dress she tried on that day. I’ve worked in retail, managed & owned multiple businesses & I have never seen an individual so...
Read moreYesterday was my second time going there. Everyone is friendly, they have a nice selection of clothes, but not shoes. The store manager allowed us to look thru bins to see if we could find any, which was nice. and the store is small and feels crowded. Uptown gives these discount cards (see pic) and if you spend $280 and have all of the card stamped you get a discount. Usually I turn the card in to buy my stuff and then a new card gets stamped. Well....Not this time and not at this store. At first, the manager/owner said that it was written on the card that we couldn't get a NEW card stamped at the same time that we turn another one in, but it wasn't written anywhere. Not on the card, not on the website. Then she said they were like reward miles, but reward miles have the rules and regulations written somewhere for their customers to see. ANY other retail place that has the card option (Mike Jersey Sub, Plato's closet, Asian Bowl) or even ones that keep track electronically like Starbucks or Smoothie King don't tell you that you can't get a reward the same day you make a purchase, using your rewards. I had never heard of that EVER and I have a long history of going to the Uptown in Arlington. Needless to say, the customer did not come first and I will never be back to this particular store. For those of you that rely on saving money to get clothes for your kids, you shouldn't come to this location either. Looking at the other reviews I'm starting to wonder if we were treated like this because my sons are black. If that's the case, they should be ashamed of themselves. Making up new rules...
Read moreDon’t come here to sell your clothes. Especially if they are high quality pieces. I came here to sell quite a few bags. When they were done going through them, they called me to say it was ready, and they asked me if I would want store credit or money. I told them that I would want money, not store credit. They never asked me over the phone if I would be okay with making the transaction final. When I have taken my clothes to places like this, when they call you, they only are letting you know that your things are ready. Then once you get there, they let you know how much they’re willing to give you for certain items and you’re able to look through your bags once more to make the final decision, and other places have never had a problem with this- it’s protocol. I drove back as soon as they called me. Once I got there, I asked to see my bags, just to double check everything and see what they wanted to give me money for. They told me I couldn’t see my multiple bags of clothes because “they had already marked everything and put it out on the racks”. My bags were empty. All of my stuff was gone. They never had my permission to take all of my clothes and go ahead and start selling them. I had multiple big bags of clothes and multiple very expensive dresses. I wanted to take out a few items including the dresses before making the final transaction. They refused and said it was too late. I never gave them my permission. Guess how much they gave me? $40… For massive bags of clothes and expensive dresses. You’re better off selling your things yourself online. Do NOT trust...
