Rusted Window — Local services in Fortville

I am writing this in hopes that other brides do not have the same experience that I have received with Rusted Window. My husband and I originally had our wedding in June 2020, but due to COVID we went ahead with our wedding as planned with immediate family only and postponed our reception to June 2021. We hired Rusted Window to provide flowers for both of these events. If you asked me after our wedding in June 2020 I would be recommending them. However this past wedding reception led to great disappointment and frustration with my experience with Rusted Window.

I had requested to have a similar bouquet to my original. I understand that you can’t make two bouquets identical, but these two bouquets looked nothing alike. We also got two “large” planters to place on top of barrels from them. These also looked nothing like the inspirational photos and what I discussed with them. After the wedding when I tried to voice my concerns with the products we received I had the worst customer service experience. After sending pictures of my bouquet and asking about the difference in size, fullness, and style of the pieces I learned that in the ‘contract’ it allows them to do whatever they would like if they don’t have what you agreed upon. We paid a lot of money and my bouquet this year was half the size of last year. The owner responded that the bouquets are much smaller and that there are several weddings this year so they don’t have the same amount of flowers like they did during COVID. After the wedding was the first time I was told about this.

We did not get the products that we talked with them about. They took no ownership in their mistake and referred every comment back to the contract that we signed. It seemed like there is no point in sending inspirational photos or discussing what you would like, because it did not turn out how we envisioned it. I don’t feel like we have been heard and since they already had our money they showed no empathy or compassion. Don’t waste your time with Rusted Window discussing with them what you want because contractually they can deliver whatever they want. Trust me they delivered what I didn’t want. I cannot say enough fabulous things about Annie, Stacy, and Rusted Window Florist in Carmel! Our daughter was married this past June (2021) and we worked with Annie for all of the flowers and table decor for the wedding. We had several meetings with Annie and knew we would love working with her after the very first meeting! Annie is the sweetest, most professional person to work with. My daughter was struggling with a vision in the beginning and in the final moment figured out what she thought she would love! Annie had to make some changes and was happy to do it! It is hard to know exactly how everything will come together on the big day, but Annie and Stacy nailed it! The flowers and decor were breathtaking! We were in awe! We had so many wonderful compliments on our flowers and decor on the day of the wedding! It’s so amazing to work with someone who is so talented, but also so professional and kind! Rusted Window did such an amazing job for my daughter's wedding this past weekend that I felt I had to write a review for them. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Stacy and Annie made it so easy for us and really listened to what our vision was for the flowers - which was initially all over the board - and then provided a sample for us at the venue. We tweaked from there and ended up with the most beautiful flowers for the table arrangements to to the bouquets to the boutonnieres. Everything was perfect and actually exceeded our expectations.
