Weird experience here the other day. I have been here before a few years back, and I am sorry to say it has taken a dive since then.

First things, I did order their filet, and while it's still pretty good, definitely not as good as back when the place first opened. My fianceé ordered their 'olympus burger,' which was described like a gyro but was more a hamburger with feta, pita bread, and a ton of salt on it.

That's all fine. I still enjoyed the food.

My main issue was with the service. When we were first seated, our waiter asked if we wanted alcohol. My fianceé replied she was okay with just water, and the guy's whole demeanor suddenly shifted. He asked if we were celebrating anything. I mentioned our anniversary was coming up. He replied, "Not close enough!" and walked off.

Multiple times while looking at the menu, he would stop right in front of our table and just glare at me. That night the restaurant was packed, mind. I guess we weren't ordering fast enough? We had only been there 10 minutes. I ordered their $5 bread just to give him something to do other than stare. It came out hard as a rock, but we crunched through half of it in hopes of feeling like we weren't wasting the money.

From that point on, every time the waiter talked to us, he did everything short of mock us. He would make weird comments about our food choices, how fast we ate, and each time he would have this look on his face like we were scum on his boots. Meanwhile the tables around us were full of loudly drunk folks celebrating, which I encourage, but it just makes it all the more strange that our guy was spending so much time watching us.

At the end of the night, he looked down at us, loudly said, "Food's gone," and unceremoniously dropped our bill onto the table.

Now maybe I'm just reading into things, but like I said, I have been here before and never had this happen. It really is a shame: I loved this place enough to want to spend extra money and time here, drove all the way from southern Indianapolis for it. Now it's just a mediocre sports bar at best.

I will not be trying to justify spending so much money here again. Even Texas Roadhouse can give you a...

We met some friends here for dinner. We had to make a reservation for a Sat night at a super early 5pm because they were hosting a holiday party. This restaurant is in the small town of Fortville so we were a little skeptical that this was going to be a great place. First impression from the outside is this is going to be a pretty cool modern place. Step inside and it switches to a rustic decor with a lot of bar and not a lot of seating. It turned out to be a good thing that we had our reservation early because by the time we left the place was packed and people at the bar were crowding in on the people at the tables.

In regards to the food we tried the Fish Tacos, the chicken dish and the seafood special which was Sea Bass. Everyone was happy with their food and regarding the Seafood special it was very good and an exact dish that I have had at Stone Creek! What are the chances of that?! Sea Bass served on mushroom risotto with a side of steamed broccoli. It was good but not 45 dollar good. Take this with a grain of salt because the dish was about 10 dollars cheaper at Stone creek and it's hard to be perfectly happy when you have had the same thing for less money.

The Beer and mixed drinks were great but there was something funky with the ice water. We narrowed it down to the ice. Glasses which had cloudy ice tasted bad where the clear ice containing glasses tasted great. The waiter was super cool about it and was able to straighten it out. Unfortunately they couldn't connect with the guys filling up the glasses with the pitchers so after a half glass of good water it got refilled with bad tasting yuck!

The last event that split the group was having the manager politely asking us to leave because they didn't leave enough time between reservations. The manager did offer to buy us a round of drinks to leave the table. This upset half of the party while the other half thought it was a nice and considerate offer.

All and all the FoxGardin was a good experience and most of the issues are a result of their success. I think we'll be back but we'll try to find a night were they are...

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my uncle-in-law's 80th birthday at FoxGardin, a local restaurant that left an indelible mark on our hearts. From the moment we called to make a reservation on the same day, the staff at FoxGardin went above and beyond to ensure a memorable evening for our special occasion.

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves seated at a fantastic corner table at FoxGardin, offering both intimacy and a great view of the restaurant. What set FoxGardin apart was their attention to detail and customer service. Witout even mentioning any mobility difficulties, they offered to and opened a normally locked door to provide him with easy access.

Our waitress at FoxGardin deserves special recognition for her exceptional kindness and efficiency. She was not only attentive to our needs but also had a warm and welcoming demeanor that added to the overall positive atmosphere. It's rare to encounter such genuine hospitality, and her contributions significantly enhanced our dining experience.

The menu at FoxGardin showcased a diverse selection, and each plate was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to delivering outstanding flavors. The appetizers and entrees were all delicious - everyone went home full and happy!

One notable highlight at FoxGardin was the restaurant's flexibility in allowing us to bring a cake from an external bakery to celebrate my uncle's milestone. Not only did they accommodate our request, but they also ensured the cake was stored appropriately, ready to be presented when the time came. This level of consideration for customers' preferences and traditions left a lasting impression on all of us.

In conclusion, our experience at FoxGardin was truly exceptional. The combination of a setting, outstanding service, delicious food, and a willingness to accommodate our special requests made for a perfect celebration. Without a doubt, we'll be returning to FoxGardin. If you're looking for a place that goes above and beyond to make your celebrations memorable, FoxGardin is the...

Look, whatever you think "bone marrow fries" are, just throw that out the window. Don't even think about it. Just order it and try it. My husband was a little worried about it based on the title, but let me tell you, we both dove in without hesitation once it hit the table. The smell is incredible and intoxicating, making it downright irresistible. The fries are somehow still crispy despite being tossed in a variety of flavors and are even good left over! The taste is hard to describe, but it is an absolute feast for the senses. It is truly a savory symphony: it has a meaty flavor and fragrance without big hunks of meat. You can taste the parmesan and balsamic, without it being piled on. The marrow and truffle oil really come through without it being a fatty mess. The peppery-ness of the arugula cuts through just enough to keep it from being too heavy. Everything is so well balanced. Just try it. The Cuban sandwich was fantastic. The bread was crunchy on the outside without being too hard, and the inside was soft without being soggy. The meat was of fantastic quality (and I'm just about as picky as you can get with meat). The pickles were sliced thick so they didn't disappear into the sandwich. Everything was just spot on. I couldn't find a single fault, even if I wanted to. The beef Manhattan was another showstopper. It was everything I had hoped it would be. The bread was thick enough to stand up to the rest of the dish. The meat was fantastic and soft without being mushy. The potatoes and gravy were fantastic. Just A+s across the board. Our waitress was also outstanding. She helped us pick out a great wine and some pretty good whisky as well. I never saw the bottom of my water glass and was very grateful for that. They brought out a delicious dessert for our anniversary dinner and we were just in heaven. I can't recommend this place enough. It is a jewel in the middle of nowhere. Be sure to make a reservation and leave extra time to find parking, because it can be tricky to find a good spot during peak hours.
