I haven’t taken more than maybe 3 small prescription's for pain in the last 30 yrs have had 10 knee surgeries, compressed vertebrae, a broken neck all over my career in extreme sports - I went to this guy today after this morning when I ate it on my bike with my cattle dog , actually had the appointment for a month. Ironic that I did more damage to myself the day I had this appointment. Possible torn cartridge in knee and a cracked rib or two - I kept the appointment … thought ah at least I’m seeing a pain doc today lol… This person completely pre judged me wouldn’t listen , called me an opioid user or that’s the only reason you’re here , I showed him my bottle that had 50 pills in it that lasted for almost 6 mos , I take one once in a while maybe 1-2 nites sometimes when it gets tough , im 60 yrs old in great shape , just can’t sleep sometimes. I still am sitting here now hurting and pist off that I didn’t lay into this man. He never even introduced himself , had no interest in listening and got post off when I didn’t think starting cortisone shots was a good idea , wow hard to believe and sad . I was excited to see this doctor , I had to restore my google account to post this in the aftermath- what a waste of time. My experience with Dr. Chiwai Chan at Pain Medicine Specialty Group was concerning due to his consistent lack of professionalism and dismissive approach to patient care. Throughout multiple appointments, I found him to be rushed, inattentive, and unwilling to engage in meaningful dialogue about my health concerns.

When I respectfully asked questions to better understand my treatment plan, Dr. Chan became visibly frustrated and raised his voice, which created an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. Rather than addressing my concerns, he abruptly discharged me from his care without providing clear reasoning or ensuring proper continuity of care.

Additionally, I discovered inaccuracies in my medical records that did not accurately reflect the details of our appointments. When I formally requested corrections, my concerns were dismissed without proper review.

This experience left me feeling unheard and unsupported. I encourage anyone seeking care from this provider to be proactive, advocate for themselves, and request copies of their medical records to ensure accuracy. This is a place that just thinking of make money and that is it before even they think about any patient situation, the staffs are very awful and they do not any training how treat a patient, equipment is all out of calibration so you get wrong result include blood pressure that one time my blood pressure show 260 and then found out their blood pressure was out of calibration and shows wrong result , I try to see Dr Chen call the office staff told me they will call me tomorrow , no call so I call back after two days again told me they will email Dr and they will call me tomorrow after one week no call so I went to office they told me the doctor is not here lie lie and lie so I call my insurance to change this office who supposed be pain management and help you to cure or minimize your pain but they add some more pain mentally on your life.
