Hiring Something Styled for our wedding planning and floral services turned out to be one of the biggest regrets of our wedding journey. What began with high hopes quickly spiraled into a frustrating experience marked by poor communication and lack of accountability, leaving us stressed during a time that should have been joyful.
We originally chose Something Styled for wedding planning and later added floral services, hoping the dual role would make things seamless. We worked with a planner for several months, who was then suddenly let go by Sarah Johns (the owner and also our florist) just months before our wedding. After that, Sarah offered to step in as our planner, despite already being responsible for our flowers. Because we had already experienced challenges with responsiveness on the floral side, we were not comfortable with that arrangement. Soon after we voiced these concerns, our planning contract ended, which left us scrambling with little time before the wedding and feeling very uncertain about how things might unfold.
When billing questions came up, Sarah provided a time log for planning services. From my perspective, it contained several discrepancies. It seemed to include charges for tasks I believed I had already handled myself or that didn’t appear completed. I tried to bring these issues up directly, but my attempts—emails, phone calls, and even a scheduled meeting at her shop—went unanswered. From my vantage point, it felt like communication was shut down rather than resolved. Eventually, I received a letter from an attorney advising me not to contact her further. For me, that was an unnecessarily hostile step that only deepened my stress.
Overall, working with Something Styled—and specifically with Sarah Johns—was one of the most stressful parts of our wedding planning. Instead of feeling supported, I often felt dismissed and left on my own. I even experienced anxiety attacks during this process because of how tense and unresolved everything felt. If you’re considering this company, I strongly urge you to think carefully. Wedding vendors should reduce your stress, not add to it. In my personal experience, there was a lack of professionalism, transparency, and accountability, and I would not...
Read moreWe chose Something Styled for our wedding florals, and were absolutely blown away by the incredible talent, professionalism, communication, and support from the Something Styled team and especially from their principal florist Kira.
From our first meeting, Kira prepared a detailed and comprehensive vision board that really helped us make sure we were on the same page about our aesthetic goals for our big day. It’s sometimes hard for me to imagine how things will go together without a visual example - so Kira really went above and beyond to make sure I felt confident on how the final arrangements would come to life. She invited us up to their studio and even braved it out in the middle of a heavy snow day to help us pick out vases and table scapes. Closer to the time, she also invited us out to the flower farm to help see how the flowers would look together in various arrangements, and was super flexible to our preferences.
I so appreciate the above and beyond approach Kira took to make sure we were confident going into the big day - and in the end I really could have trusted her with anything because of her sheer talent and artistry. When we arrived to the venue my (now) husband and I were absolutely blown away. It was everything we could have asked for and more - she took our vision and direction and added so much personality, artistic choices, and creativity into our arrangements. I adored my bouquet so much and was completely floored by our beautiful ceremony pillars. Even my husband, who isn’t typically as passionate about these kind of details as myself, couldn’t stop talking about the flowers and said they were his favorite part of the overall decor for the day.
Kira is a true talent and whether you are more hands on or want to just let her do her thing, I guarantee you will be thrilled with her work! On top of that, she was incredibly kind, enthusiastic, communicative, organized, and professional (as was Sarah, who we worked with a bit as well!) We highly recommend Something Styled for their floral services, and can’t thank Kira enough for all of the hard work she put into making our wedding day...
Read moreMy sister had to cancel her wedding 46 days in advance of the date. It's been the emotional roller coaster and this business has not been supportive or responsive. She has been in contact with Sarah, the owner of Something Styled, regarding the cancelation and finding ways to obtain a refund for services unused. According to the contract, my sister was entitled to receive a refund less any supply orders already placed, design time and the retainer fee. Sarah informed my sister that she had placed the order back in April (before any selections were made final). Regardless, my sister planned to oblige with these terms and asked how she could get the ordered items. Sarah promised to provide the address for the wholesaler so my sister could pick up the flowers the week of her wedding. My sister contacted the wholesaler to confirm the details and found that no such order ever existed prior to her call! This seems pretty sketchy to me. We tried to contact her and have her make good on what she owes us per her contract but she has remained unresponsive and is keeping the money my sister is entitled to. So, we want to spread the word to help other brides make more informed decisions during these...
