I enjoy Asian cuisine and was driving to another location on Youngfield for lunch when I found Lu House. I am known by my friends for having the ability to find a great hole in the restaurants. You know those hiding out in strip malls or odd places but have great-tasting food.
I am giving Lu House this rating for three key reasons.
Food Flavor - I had the Mongolian Beef lunch special. The flavor of the beef was amazing, the beef was tender and it was a generous lunch-size portion. It came with steamed rice, an egg roll, and hot and sour soup which also delivered the flavor. I was impressed with the food and look forward to trying some of their other dishes.
Speed - You can actually go to Lu House for lunch and be in and out in a 1/2 hour. My soup came immediately after ordering, and my lunch plate was out before I could finish the soup. The staff was impressive and the kitchen was amazingly fast. I was also impressed because they know their customers, they knew that I was new and welcomed me and made sure I understood where the lunches were on the menu.
Price - I appreciate their effort to manage their prices. I thought they really delivered a great meal for the price.
The restaurant is clean, all the tables were bussed and they give you linen napkins. All impressive in today's world. I am going to be going back and will select some other dishes to test it out, but this is a good find if you are looking for great food and do not care...
Read moreFinally a place with great noodles and Gen. Tso chicken!!! I've tried one local place, after another over the past two years, and all the others haven't been nearly as good on these dishes. The chicken was good quality, perfectly breaded, and meaty (not fatty or stringy!). The gen. Tso sauce is delicious! The Hong Kong and Lomein noodles had great flavor, the texture was great and just the right balance of chewiness. I might have liked the Hong Kong noodles slightly more for its stir fried texture and a slightly deeper flavor, but really they were both delicious. My kids were just as happy as me that we finally found a place that does our favorite dishes the way we love them! The only things I might change is the type of wrapper on the eggrolls, they tasted good, but I like the thicker, bumpier textured wrappers on bulkier eggrolls, and haven't found those anywhere in Colorado yet. Slightly more egg in the fried rice is something that can probably be requested on our next order. Everything was correct when we picked up our meal, and the ladies were very nice. They appear to be taking social distancing and cleanliness seriously too, which I...
Read moreNot bad, but definitely not good. Ordered delivery and the food was room temperature. Not sure if it wasn’t hot when it left or if they don’t have an adequate way to transport hot food in the winter. Either way I had to heat up my own soup. There was also very little ingredients in my soup, very small amount of eggs and bambo, I’m not sure there’s any mushrooms at all, no meat whatsoever, only significant amount of anything was the tofu. Rice was cheap and over cooked, and putting soy sauce on plain rice does not make it fried rice. Spring rolls were ridiculous, a giant amount of rice noodles, three dinky little pieces of a half a shrimp and an insignificant amount of iceberg lettuce. That’s it, no exaggeration. Absolutely no flavor. The peanut dipping sauce was good, that gained them a star, but a little cheap cilantro would have gone a long way to improve these.
Our first time ordering and possibly our last. Was very...
