Applewood Park — Attraction in Colorado

Nice, somewhat hidden gem near i70 that despite being so close to the highway, it can be quite peaceful as this park never seems to be crowded.

There is a sand volleyball court, a half basketball court in the parking lot, bathrooms, outdoor gym, two playgrounds for children, barbecue grills, and covered benches and tables. Also, there is ample parking for large parties. Usually, Saturday mornings in the summer are pretty busy with early morning Little League soccer or baseball games around 6am-8am or so, but usually dies down after that. Throughout the week, it is pretty empty all throughout the day. Most times after 3pm, it's just a handful of people (if that)...

Great place for outdoor activities and friendly passers-by walking their dogs or riding bikes/ exercising. However, the northwest side towards the highway, volleyball court, and auxiliary play area is lacking facilities; e.g. restrooms and a reasonable trash collection area. . I don't mind the traverse to the main area towards the Applewood park parking lot to accomplish this but it would be more than reasonable to have some kind of receptacle for waste more locally positioned on...

A hidden gem near Colorado Mills, this park is a wonderful place to go. Two different playground areas with a huge open field, as well as a well crafted workout area equipped for calisthenics. There is a trail around the park, but it's not very long. Public bathrooms as well as a decently sized covered picnic table area. There are also well spaced out benches for those who need breaks...
