I have never experienced someone so rude and uninterested in even speaking with me, much less helping me. From the very moment I stepped up to the counter, I was taken aback by the very rude and dismissive worker behind the counter. I had spoken on the phone the day before with USPS and been told to come in with my tracking number and ID in order to pick up my Amazon box (which had been marked undeliverable(?) by USPS). My previous Amazon box (free shipping, same as this box) was delivered no problem by UPS earlier this week. Apparently, tax dollars are not very effective at getting mail delivered...
The moment I spoke, the gal interrupted and refused to take the tracking number, insisted that the package would be delivered today (like I was an idiot) and refused to listen when I told her that I have tracking information listed contrary to what she was saying. She eventually took the tracking number as I repeated myself and what I'd been told over the phone by USPS yesterday. After saying the package didn't exist, she eventually said that they received the package yesterday morning and then shipped it back to the seller yesterday afternoon. The package never left their facility to attempt delivery, nor was I given the opportunity to pick it up.
Amazon has great customer service and has already issued me a refund. My greatest issue is not the box at all, but the absolutely unkind manner USPS engaged with me. I was respectful and bewildered at why I wasn't allowed to speak from the moment I stepped to the counter. I am...
Read moreI've lived all over the country and this is the worst post office I've ever had to deal with. As many have said I deal with late deliveries all year regardless of weather. I've now had two packages left outside on my mailbox in high wind so they got blown away and lost. When I called the post office I was told that there was nothing they could do for me and that it would be basically impossible for me to make a claim against the shipping insurance because the package was delivered. I've had packages not delivered to my house multiple times, the claim being that there was no access to my house (the stairs to my deck are about 3 feet from the always plowed road). I've had a check ruined by the mailman leaving my mailbox open, and have come home multiple times to find that the mailman has left many of my and my neighbors mailboxes wide open. I've had to call in multiple times and always try to be reasonable but have had a very condescending conversation with an employee there named Tammy. Lastly we've filed paperwork that we were told would make so only mail for my wife and myself would be delivered to the house but we continue to receive junk mail for tenants that haven't lived there in years. I'm at a loss for what to do anymore about them, they are awful and I wish the whole staff would be replaced with some mildly...
Read moreWe go to this branch an average of one time every business day, and are so thankful to have this post office in Evergreen. Our packages are always sent quickly and efficiently. We consistently saw these employees working extremely hard during the busy season in November, December, and even well into January. In addition, we have only seen the automated postal machine be unavailable once in the past six months, which is 100x better than the machines where we previously lived. Some branches still don't even have the automated machines, which is unfortunate.
I don't always agree with how little the US government funds these offices, or some of the customer-unfriendly policies of the USPS, like how difficult/impossible it is to get even the smallest insurance claim approved for a damaged & insured item (long story...). However, the staff here seems to be doing a fine job with very limited resources, and they can't control USPS policy. They are simply trying to do their jobs day after day.
It is a shame that more people aren't thankful for our infrastructure in the United States and how well it can work when we all support our basic services. Some people do not understand why all citizens need basic services like the USPS, which we have enjoyed for more than 200 years. We should work to improve it, not...
