Checked out Joe's at the recommendation of a family member. Loved the atmosphere immediately; cute landscaping and ample parking! I was met with a fresh market scent upon opening the door. No overwhelming fish or water smell. Was very impressed with the market and dessert selections! Lots of options no matter what you're craving. Bright welcoming lights and easy to see into cases, made it effortless to imagine every delicious displayed Joe's creation plated in my kitchen. The attentive, knowledgable, and very friendly counter staff helped me narrow down my flavor profiles. I decided on a twice baked potato and two types of kababs; the Hawaiian Chicken and the Cheeseburger on a Stick. All of my selections were vacuum sealed for freshness immediately after leaving the display case. The potato was PHENOM! Reset my standard for a baked potato. The portions are huge though! Plan for The kababs were AMAZING! I seared the Cheeseburger on a Stick on the stove and made a fried rice stir fry with the Hawaiian Chicken. Can not recommend Joe's Butcher & Bay...
Read moreI was just there about an hour ago. I asked for 20 pieces of "very thinly sliced" chicken cutlets and to make sure ALL the tendon and excess fat be cut off. I even asked again to be sure this is possible to be done. However, what I got is definitely NOT what asked for. I paid almost $61 for 7 lbs of it. I had to cut all the excess stuff myself so ended up with maybe about 3 lbs of chicken cutlets which I had to pound out thinly as well. I also purchased 2 containers of plain marinara sauce and was charged $12.98 for each. Interestingly, the marinara sauce with meatballs cost $13.75. I in no way care about the cost as it cost me $21.99 per pound for paper thin cutlets in NYC where I live and purchase lbs of it weekly. What I am annoyed about is that I could've been told they didn't have their butcher there or it wasn't possible to do. I was looking for convenience not to be a butcher. Attached are pictures of how much stuff had to be cut off of the "thin" cutlets. It's a terrible experience on my end as a 1st...
Read moreI’ve been going to the Joe’s Butcher and Bay Shop for a bit now, but today’s visit truly showed me what makes this place so special. I went in looking for organ meat for my dog, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. They not only had what I needed—heart, liver, and kidney—but the gentleman helping me kindly ground it all up for me and even took the time to explain how to gradually introduce it into my dog’s diet.
When I mentioned to him that it was for my dog with cancer, he stepped away for a moment and came back with a marrow bone for my pup. He told me to just give them a call before my next visit so they could have the organ meat ready in advance.
That small act of kindness meant so much to me during such a difficult time. It’s rare to find a shop that not only provides high-quality products but also shows such genuine care for their customers. From now on, I won’t be shopping anywhere else for meats. Thank you for going above and beyond—you’ve truly made a loyal...
