The Commons Neighborhood Eatery — Restaurant in Foxborough

Horrible experience, I never write reviews but I am just appalled at this interaction and felt the need to share. My boyfriend and I wanted to try somewhere new for breakfast and we found this place. Awesome. We ordered a pickup online, paid, all done via Grubhub which was the default ordering system for online. We arrived, my boyfriend goes in to pick up the order. After a few minutes, he comes out to the car and asks if I have a receipt from the order. I do, so he then brings my phone to them and shows them. He comes back to me frustrated, they (very rudely) told him they don't do Grubhub. I go to just cancel the order via Grubhub and I am told I can't cancel the order because the place is preparing the order and I need to call them. Since I am still there, I go in and show them that I am being told I need to call them to cancel the order. An older gentleman in the back (very rudely, again) tells me there's nothing he can do. So basically, I'm on my own and out of money. I wouldn't have been this upset if my boyfriend and I weren't treated with such disrespect. This could have been handled the same way and ultimately left me responsible for getting the refund from Grubhub but if I was treated with an ounce of respect and kindness I wouldn't have been upset. Do not go here. Go literally...

The food was good and the place was nicely set up but the RACISM I felt was disappointing. I was told to sit wherever I wanted no problem I sat and waited 10 mins for just a menu and the place wasn't busy when I sat down. I had to get up and get my own menu. When the waitress finally came over I gave her my whole order and watched her seat everyone else and give them menus immediately, talk with them and checked on each person in different spot at the restaurant including right in front of me, at the other end of restaurant and at the bar and never checked on me. Then when I got my food I needed another tea and again watched my waitress bring everyone else there food and check on them again including the seats right in front of me and she never checked on me. Then when I was done with my food stilling watching my waitress check on everyone else and talk to everyone else in the restaurant I literally waited another 20 mins just for my bill. The reason I call this racism is because I definitely was the only women of color in that place at the time and absolutely the only person who was not checked on but once when my food was bought to me initially its sad because the food was good but because of the way I was treated I definitely will not be returning because service...

I really wanted to give a higher score but some large things stuck out to me and I just couldn't. The staff was very overwhelmed and disorganized right from the minute we walked in and gave our name for a table. I was in a party of 5 so I knew waiting for a table would be a definite. I was fine with waiting but it became clear early on that the person talking names was unclear on the sections and began overloading one waitress. We were sat after maybe 10-15 minutes in the already overwhelmed section. Our waitress was very nice but far to busy to handle a party of our size. We were forgot about on more than one occasion and for a long time before being able to order. We finally had to stop another employee to have them round up our waitress and have her come back. Even after the other employee asked her to check on us we still didn't see her for another 10 minutes. Our food arrived in an appropriate amount of time and everything was piping hot. The omelets were very good and full of toppings and lots of cheese. I had banana pancakes that we very dry and disappointing. The home fries were the star of the meal and I could eat them all day. Prices were very reasonable considering the size...
