UPDATED REVIEW: I've now been a member at Cerus Fitness for almost 18 months. I stand by my original review from a year ago (below) but the past 18 months has truly been a transformative experience both physically and mentally. When I first became a member, I only participated in the fitness classes. Since then, I've participated in many Cerus events, competitions, completed online personal training courses am now working with an in-person trainer to work on my strength and skills. I am doing things that I would have never thought I was capable of doing a year ago. The team at Cerus is always there to cheer me on and lift me up. That positivity is also backed knowledge and experience to help me accomplish my goals and become my best self!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: After spending the past few years working out at home, I was ready for something new. I'm so glad I came across Cerus Fitness! I'll admit, the first time I walked in, I was a little intimidated by the obstacle course set-up. It didn't take long before I was greeted by every member of the staff, trainers and the owner, Chris. I signed up the same night I completed the tour.
After attending my first few classes, I knew I found a new gym home. Everyone was so welcoming. The classes are truly fit for people of all abilities. Cerus offers everything from HIIT, Strength, Boxing, Yoga and Spin classes. The trainers take the time to explain each move and ensure that we are doing things with proper form. I have to say I'm a bit addicted now.
If group classes aren't your thing, that's ok! The gym has top of the line cardio and strength equipment with plenty of room to set up your own little area and do your thing. This place is far from your typical corporate gym. It's more...
Read moreCerus has definitely raised the bar and expectation I have on what a gym should be. This place offers the BEST training, community, and facility in the area, hands down. I was on the hunt for a gym this past year and I had heard a little bit about Cerus Fitness, but due to my school and work schedule I couldn't check it out just yet. In the time being before I started going to Cerus, I lifted at another mediocre gym that had okay equipment and facilities, but it was definitely lacking the community aspect I needed to really push myself physically and become even more focused on my fitness and health. One day I bumped into the owner of Cerus Fitness, Chris, and I decided it was time to check this place out. After trying out a boxing class this past summer at Cerus, I became absolutely HOOKED on this gym - I've never felt more encouraged, welcomed, and safe in a gym before. The people are amazing and the environment is great. Even if you're the kind of person to just pop your earbuds in and get a quick lift in with little interest in socializing - this place is wonderful: excellent equipment, space, experienced trainers and staff, body scanning technology, etc. I recommend getting a membership tier where you can enjoy the variety of fitness classes they offer: yoga, cycling, boxing, HITT, and lift classes. Definitely check...
Read moreCerus is easily the best gym I’ve ever been a member of. The staff is extremely friendly and Chris and Rich take personal interest in each member, which is impressive for how large their membership base is. It’s awesome to show up and be greeted by name.
The gym itself has top-notch equipment and trainers. I was originally intrigued because of their expertise in Obstacle course racing and thought it would be an excellent way to shake up my workouts. I was right! It was shocking how many different types of classes they had - from boxing to HIIT to OCR. They also run specific classes to increase your speed, stamina, or strength. The versatility of this gym is unmatched if you’re looking to up your overall fitness (and have fun while doing it).
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed going here and have made friends along the way. The Cherry on the top is for all they offer, their membership prices are easily half of what most crossfit gyms, as well as orange theory and F45 charge.
If you’re interested in finding a new gym, do your self a favor and check out...
