My last 2 trips in for service on my bike, were not a good experience. This last service was my 10k, I was called after dropping of the bike, which I drove to the dealership. Every thing was working just fine. 2019 Road Glide Special, with 10,080 miles on it, which I purchased at High Country. I got a call from TJ. I was informed that my transmission needed to be rebuilt, because they found "Large chunks" of metal in the fluid when they drained it. I asked for a photo of the chunks. It's attached. Maybe it just me, but the photo looks staged. I don't see any fluid on this plug or on the shavings. I did not authorize a rebuild, then I was told, "the mechanic said it's so bad, if it wasn't rebuilt he would be afraid to do a test drive after putting fluid back in it". Then TJ started in on me about purchasing a extended service plan, I had them complete the service, but no rebuild at this time. I got my bike back and drove it home with no problems. No weird noises from the transmission, shifted just fine. The drama service sales attempt for the rebuild we just a tad rediculous. The previous service was also hampered with thousands of dollars of recommended service needs by TJ with the same drama. Not sure I'll go back to High Country. Update: I've put 1300+ miles on the bike since this incident, obviously my transmission is still doing the work with no issues. I haven't gone back to High Country.

I was doing some riding on my Limited and stopped in High Country HD because I hadn’t been there in a few years. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Marcus, the Sales Manager and fellow Army veteran…, good stuff. He was great…, down to earth, honest and all around good guy. We spoke for about ten minutes when the General Manager, Reed came over. Turns out we know a lot of people in common, mostly people in the business. We discussed trade practices and it sounds to me like this dealership has serious plans to continue to develop a loyal customer base (I used to sell H-D’s and know some of the pitfalls). Honestly, integrity and being proud of its product go a long way, people are smart and can smell a greedy dealer a “mile” away. From the way I was treated it’s obvious that the leadership of this dealership will go out of its way to treat customers fairly and with some dignity. I’m very pleased to see this from a local HD franchise. I look forward to doing business here and eventually buy a new Harley-Davidson from Marcus and Reed.

High Country Harley Davidson is a truly special dealership. They have treated me like family since I walked in the door fifteen years ago and asked about getting a Sportster. Since then, they've helped me build bikes, helped me enjoy bikes, and stood by the bikes I've owned, even when other dealerships have screwed them up. Let me give special praise to the service department. Brett, Micah, and all the techs are wonderful. They've really kept me rolling on the road through thick and thin, and as I've gotten to know them, I've found they are committed to our mutual life as riders. We've all walked into dealerships that are enormous and sparkly and ultimately treat the customer like an ATM. That's not what High Country is about. This is a family-owned business that is rooted in motorcycling. They earned my business and they continue to earn it every time I show up.

//Edit: Justin from the service department contacted me about this review and made the effort to make things right. That says a lot, so I will be giving High Country another shot. //

First off, the sales staff here is pleasant to work with so I hope no one takes this personally. This is a long review, so bear with me.

I purchased a new motorcycle here in May. Unfortunately, not a single part of the transaction has gone smoothly.

Chronologically: 1.) The bike had to be trailered in from Cheyenne. I was told to be at the dealership around 1 pm and the bike would be ready for me to inspect/pick up. The bike wasn't ready for me until around 4. With all of the back office stuff, I wasn't actually on the road with the bike until around 6. That was a long time to be waiting around doing nothing at the dealership.

2.) Because the bike was trailered, I had to put a deposit down. I was double charged for the deposit. This was an annoying issue since it was the first day of the month and rent was also due. It was eventually fixed, but there was nothing I could do with my landlord to remove the "strike" from my lease record.

3.) My name was misspelled by the dealership when creating my account at the credit union the offer was financed through. This created a headache for me while trying to check the status of my loan.

4.) Fast forward a couple of months and it's time for the 1k service. I try to call to schedule an appointment with the service department. No answer so I leave a message. It was never returned. I attempted to schedule the appointment online. I was supposed to be "contacted by a representative" to verify the appointment. Never happened. So, finally, I go by the shop myself and try for a walk in. I was told by Doug (understandably) that he couldn't perform the service as a walk in. I asked if I could schedule an appointment for the service, and he said, "No, just come in first thing on Monday morning and tell whoever is there that Doug sent you." I asked if he was sure I that he didn't need to take my info down and was told, "Nope. Just come in first thing Monday." Well, Monday came and I was at the service gate at 8:28 am to watch them open the doors around 8:40. Doug was there and took my bike for the service. Said he would give me a call later when it was done. 4 pm rolls around and I haven't heard anything back, so I call. No answer. I leave a message and wait an hour. No answer. I call the sales department and ask if someone can talk to service and have them call me. Another hour later I get a call from Doug: "I was under the impression you were going to bring this in on a Tuesday or Wednesday." Me: "No sir, you told me to bring it in first thing Monday morning." Doug: "Well I couldn't get anyone to work on it today. It'll be ready tomorrow at the end of the day."

I go back the next day to get my bike. The initial service came out to $450 ( about $70 on parts/oil and $380 on labor...separate issue). The guy brings my bike around about 30 minutes after I had paid, and it looks worse than when I dropped it off. It had obviously sat outside in the rain overnight and was filthy. I get that there's only so much that can be done, but the fact that it was their error and inability to make an appointment that led to the bike sitting overnight and being gross really upset me.

I don't like leaving negative reviews. I try to be understanding that this is a busy time of the year in a tough industry...but the whole thing has been a frustrating headache. Will probably try Thunder...

To be honest I had a very bad experience at high country Harley-Davidson. Number one I had an appointment for July 5th that I set up over a month ago and they did not get my bike in until the 8th. I told them the problems I was having with my tour pack and they could not solve it. Besides the poor service I kind of got an attitude after picking my bike up today which is July 9th and when I took it there my radio worked fine now it isn't working and they tell me it's not their problem. I suggest you find somewhere else if you want to get your service done on your bike because when you find a problem that wasn't there after it was in their shop they want to tiptoe around it and not fix it. After I got the bike home I took my seat off and pulled the plug on my tour pack which I told him that was a problem and fixed it myself after they told me they could not find the problem and I'm not a mechanic. Last but not least, when I took my bike to the shop my radio was working fine. Then when I picked it up today and went down the road to turn the volume up my radio wasn't working! So I take it back to them 15 minutes later and they tell me it's not their problem but it was working when I put it in the garage. So all of you that had good experiences I'm glad for you but I think they're horrible and the...
