Food Lion — Local services in Frederick

I shop here pretty regularly and there are definitely some things I like about the store — but also a few recurring issues that are hard to ignore. Pros: •The produce is generally fairly priced (aside from organic fruit, which is on the pricey side). •The kid-sized shopping carts are a great touch — my little one loves them and it makes the trip more enjoyable for both of us. Cons: •The biggest downside is the smoking area right in front of the entrance. Employees are often out there on their breaks, and the smoke just lingers. It’s especially frustrating because the kid carts are usually parked right in that area, so my little one ends up breathing it in every time we go in or out. It's gross and honestly, not safe. Who thought placing a smoking area by the entrance was a smart idea? •They’re almost always out of organic whole milk in gallon size. It’s seriously a toss-up whether it’ll be in stock, and for something as basic as milk, that’s just annoying. •To make it worse, they just raised the price of the organic gallon of milk by a full dollar overnight. Now it’s $1 more expensive than Giant. That kind of price jump feels sneaky and disappointing.

I really want to love this store — and in many ways I do — but some of these things make shopping here more frustrating than it should be. A few simple changes could...

I NEVER give 5 stars… NEVER… but this Food Lion In Frederick, Md. has an employee that deserves it.

I took my friend to get her food that she ordered. I never went in because they bring it to you. Im embarrassed to say I didn’t catch her name …but she made such a great impression. I was shocked because in this day and age people can’t impress me.

When she was walking to the car I noticed she had a lil pep in her step, if you will. Not hurrying. Just a happy walk. She was smiling and visibly enjoying the day..? Her job…? Not sure what is was.. but I noticed and it made a difference. She was polite, thorough and .. I guess I was pleased to see a young adult doing her job, doing it well and that’s not what I find to be the new normal.

I thank you so much for surprising me & that’s why I took the time to write this. Keep up the good work you’re doing. You make it look effortless.

• I was there Monday January 31, 2022 . Our order was ready at 1:00 and the last name was Warner. So who ever brought the grocery’s to my Jetta, Bravo. Keep smiling.

I love that I gave a rave review and five stars and literally no comment from Food Lion. Lack of compassion and caring from a management...

I had someone do a pick up here for me. The employee was nice and was the same one who shopped for my items. They were very responsive and did a good job picking out produce. They also gave a small bag of complimentary items which was unexpected but great. I would go inside or do a pick up again. I use to not like food lion but I have realized some are just better then others. This location is one of the good ones.

Side note: Some items will be out of stock due to the ongoing pandemic. People seem to think it's odd but it's common across the country. Issues with certian suppliers. That should be pretty clear tbh.. I have had issues at wegmans, giant and safeway; not just food lion. Some people think everything should is back normal but there is a lot more going on right now.
