I recently visited the King Soopers in Frederick and had a really frustrating experience at the checkout. I watched a husband and wife ahead of me who were both obviously over 21, but because the husband forgot his wallet, the cashier made him go all the way out to his car before letting them buy their items. They kept saying "everyone involved in the sale must be IDâd," but it felt like an over-the-top application of their policy.
To make matters worse, when it was my turn, I went through the line with my young adult daughter, and they didnât even check her ID, yet they carded the older gentleman before us. When I asked, "If thatâs the state policy, then why didnât you ID my daughter? Did you break the law?" they responded that they didnât ID her because she was obviously my daughter. I pointed out that as a 48-year-old man, I could easily have a daughter whoâs 21 or older.
I looked into the state law myself and even found the law number, and it didnât align with what happened. I thought maybe it was an internal policy, but they avoided discussing that and wouldnât show me their policy.
The inconsistency, misleading information, and lack of transparency were really disappointing. I hope they can clarify their policies and apply them consistently...
Read moreI was very excited for this Kings to open until we went. Jake (Not quite sure of his position, but notified us he's a boss multiple times) was very unprofessional and rude my Google pay would not work at a normal register so he had to walk us over to customer service. He then asked me personal questions about my credit card and what type I was using (mind blowing). This is all after he interrupted our transaction with the cashier purchasing tobacco and made me go out to the car for my 35yr old wife's ID in order to complete our order. She was not purchasing anything nor asked for the product. Note: we were in the day prior purchasing alcohol and my wife was NOT asked to show ID for this. We were then told if we had our 16yr old son with us we would not be able to purchase tobacco products here. I understand laws, but no other establishment does this ever. Worst experience I have ever had at a King Soopers in my life. Turned a 10 minute trip into 45 minutes. If Jake never came up and interrupted our cashier I truly believe this would have been a different experience. He is horrible and does not know how to carry himself. I'll stick to Firestone for now,...
Read moreOverall this king soopers isnt bad, BUT the one time I use their pick up wasnt a great experience. I have rear end damage on my car so I needed my groceries put in the back seat of my car. So in turn, I put my bags in the back seat and told the guy who brought my order out I had bags, and that they are in the back seat. I thought since I have obvious damage on the back of my car and that the bags were in the back seat, he would put them in the back seat but he didn't. Which isnt the end of the world, but because of the rear end damage (and I fear common sense) he wasn't going to slam my trunk door shut, but he did. Which in turn took more paint off of my car when the door was slammed.
Overall wasnt the worst thing, but just wish the dude paid more attention to things. Even if my car wasnt previously damaged, I wouldn't have liked my trunk door to be slammed...
