Update.. So I returned to this post to update it based on information I obtained from my friend and neighbor who apparently works there. #smalltownlife. I was told that the wings are never boiled and that they had a cook timing issue on opening day and have since made adjustments resulting in crisper wings. Upon my return I noticed the response from Justin. First let me say thank you for your concern and response. Most business responses are pretty lame and nonchalant. I do not dispute that the prize wheel was available. My issue is that it was not offered to us by anyone at the counter. Not by the two wonderful young ladies at the counter, nor by the large bearded gentlemen (possibly Justin?) Who was standing by the counter apparently overseeing things. As I stated in my original post I am a huge supporter of our local businesses and only wish for your success. I look forward to continuing the dialog with you via email but please note that free food is not my goal. My goal is to have a consistently good restaurant right around the corner from my house.
I've waited a while to post this review. I've always tried to support our local businesses, and I'm not fond of knocking them. I did not want my review to be out too early and cause an undue negative impact. That being said, here's my truth. I am not a fan of boiled wings! I've seen some reviews speaking of crispy wings, but I did not get that. We were there the first hour of the first day. After viewing the promotional details for opening day, I must confess that I found the entire experience to be kind of meh. The promotion promised games, prizes and a party atmosphere. We engaged in none of that. We were not given our 5 free wings for our arrival time. We were not offered a prize wheel to spin. At least there were balloons available for the kids. As to the food, I had bone in teriyaki & parm garlic. The wife chose the corn dogs and (you can take the girl out of the stat fair, but... ) funnel fries. The dogs were quite tasty, and the onion rings exquisite. Fries were crispy on the outside and pillow inside. But remember, this is a WING shack. Wings were soft with no crunch whatsoever. Parm garlic sauce was way too thin. You can see it pooled in the corner of the photo. Teriyaki sauce had a weird bitter after taste that was very off-putting and an assault on the taste buds. The staff was great. Very enthusiastic from front to back of house. I hope this continues. I'll give them another shot. As I said, I'm all about the locals. Just try to do better and don't say it if you don't mean it or...
Read moreI have to say I absolutely love the Longmont location and so excited for the Dacono location! When we order from there, we know to expect fresh food, typically made in a minimum of 20 minutes at all locations.
I understand the Dacono location is new, and while I can't speak to how many fryers or how many employees they have or how long they've been working together, it’s common sense that there are a lot of factors at play that’s going to cause wait times and food that doesn’t even meet their expectations let alone customers. If it’s a busy Friday night with limited options in our area and a restaurant is dealing with 25 online orders and 25 in-house orders minimum of 40 wings each order all within 15 minutes entered, that’s a total of 50 orders to prepare, each taking at least 20 minutes—so that adds up quickly! You can only do so much 🍗 I don't work here and I'm definitely not a mathematician, but considering this WOW!
We have done about 15 orders maybe more at the dacono location now! We always order through their app, which is the only way to do it online for accuracy (wait time it does show it at each location on the wing shack online order section) but app for cc payment and coupons, and the text of food ready are accurate within 3 minutes of our food sent to front. We know to expect an hour or more sometimes, and we plan accordingly. We've ordered at the Dacono location in-house as well, and yes, we’ve experienced waits—sometimes 25 minutes, sometimes over an hour. But remember, this is not a fast food chain where everything is mass-produced.
These employees are genuinely trying their best, and from my experience with other locations, I can say they have a great owner and fantastic teams that work well together. If we can give this new spot a chance, I truly believe it will be just as amazing!
I love the flavor options, the food, and I think the location was a smart choice, especially given the current wait times. Let’s be patient and support this place as they find their rhythm! 🐓
For everyone posting negative reviews if you say something in store they usually make an effort to make things right in what they can! We watch it everytime and watch some of the younger employees try so hard not to cry as people are so upset at wait times and...
Read moreEdit: after a few bad experiences I'm amending this review. a few things to know before you go: the Tuesday boneless special is a sure fire way to get the worst wings you can. last time we went half the wings were at least half dry and many of them had no meat at all, just a hard clump of bredding. it isn't a deal if the discount is for garbage. I've also had a few times where they got the order completely wrong both in person and via the online system. finally, if you have a shrimp allergy the bone in wings are the only safe options during their shrimp promotions since they only have one frier for non-bone in wings. while this place is definitely better than elf grill, it is also hot or miss and often not worth the price.
We are fans of the Wing Shack franchise and we were excited to see them refurbish and bring new life to a location with a history. They did a great job renovating and although small the shop holds a good number of people and it doesn't feel cramped. Much like the other Wing Shacks they had a full floor staff with helpful and friendly employees willing to help. The wings were amazing, we went boneless and they were great quality meat and enough sauce without drowning in it. the crinkle cut fries were crispy and well cooked, as were the pickle fries. sauces and rubs were great and they even had funnel cake fries to order for desert. the atmosphere was lively and friendly and the staff were attentive and...
