African Hair Braiding — Local services in Fredericksburg

I have been to this location a few times over the years. I will say the owner in terms of doing hair is good. The ladies who braid on the other side are also good. My complaint is customer service. I scheduled an appointment for my little cousin via phone for 230. I was asked if there was an open time earlier would i want it. I said of course just call. The problem was when my cousin went at 230 she was told i had cancelled the appointment. I had of pass the call and talking to the owner she stated she called ...i or someone answered and cancelled the appt. I told her there was no one in the house and i was asleep so there was no way i called nor picked up and cancelled appointment. I don't know if she just passed the phone back or just hung up..but there was no resolution even attempted. When i reviewed my call log i had one missed call around 1032am...i attempted to call back and no answer. With the facts i can only conclude she or someone at the shop called to move the appt earlier there was no pickup and they opted to send the braider home (my mom stated she had let the braider go home)...i assume the work was slow today. This would had been an easy fix of just owning a mistake because it does happen in customer service fields. What was unacceptable was to not own up to the mistake and not try to resolve the mistake. Very disappointed. This shouldnt overshadow the work they produce but it does leave a bad taste. Im big on customer service and integrity. .. (prior military can't help it)....and if anyone is from the shop i am more then happen to show my phone log of incoming and outcoming. Facts or...

When i arrived i came early as my appointment is at 8am! There are two sides tot he shop looks like a hair cutting location and an additional side! Well anyway they weren't on time there was one lady in the shop abd she acted as if she had no idea what was going on when i came in and asked me to wait outside!Additionally after waiting outside a bit in 80 degree weather they finally took me and acted as if they didnt want to do their job at all! There was a problem with everything their hair they had "my hair texture" these women aren't professional so if you have NATURAL Hair dont waste your time! They talked laughed made personal calls while doing my hair....Now i dont mind that because business is business but if it hinders you from moving your hands then you dont need to be on the phone while doing my hair because just as we pay our money and your time is valuable so is ours ! other women kept coming over to her station carrying on conversations with her and again she was not multitasking and kept stopping while braiding my hair making this process wayyyyyy too long it took almost 9 hours ....they laughed loudly in my ear while doing my hair dancing around definitely definitely not professional seemed as if they had an attitude did not care about the QUALITY of their work while doing it or after this African braiding shop is...

So Wooow ..This establiment was one of the worse ones i have ever visited and i know for a fact there were orher people in the shop that felt the same way.So this shop must be family owned as i asked to speak with a manger and ahe said "oh so you want to speak with my mom" with a smirk they are VERY VERY unprofessional unpleasent and untrained im not sure how they even have a liscene to practice.I wanted to support black establishments in this time of pandemic but these women did not deserve my coins(235).Rude she pulled my hair the entire time because she was too lazy to stand up and braid the hair like women in other shops.They try to get over EVERY chance they can so go in with extra money because you might be charged for something.When i spoke my mind i overheard my name being mentioned several times in another language! I ignored the reviews because i know they can be harsh sometimes but this is the ABSOLUTE truth SAVE your money if i could get mine back i will!
