We recently traded in our Lexus RX350 for our first electric vehicle, the RZ450e, from Ray Catena in Freehold. This dealership has a welcoming and serviceable vibe that feels like family. Everyone from service to sales is friendly, attentive, and the shop is comfortable--even with the renovations going on! What really stood out was how customer-centered and informative the entire team was, from service to finance to sales.
In for routine maintenance on our 350 the day we made our purchase, we found Rob Fishman willing to spend time chatting with us about our 350, a recent vacation, and the conversation naturally led to our interest in an EV. We checked out the RZ's, went for a test drive, looked at some inventory. He candidly walked us through whether this transition made sense for us, based on miles driven per week, distances to work and places we like to go on weekends, charging access and knowledge, etc. He knows the EV so well and genuinely wanted us to feel confident if we made the switch. As we continued the conversation, we grew in readiness to make a deal on a new EV!
When it came to numbers, Rob was clear, patient, and willing to work within our budget. Writing the numbers out, doing the math right with us, he openly discussed where he had room to make things work, whether that meant adjusting our down payment or the monthly lease payment. Rob went back to management 3-4x to get us closer to our comfort zone. That kind of persistence on our behalf made a big difference!
Even after the papers were signed, the support didn't stop. Eddie from Service totally hooked it up by teaching us how to customize the infotainment system and all the groovy extras like seat and mirror pref's, syncing our phones and Apple CarPlay, and the digital key. He showed us the charging cables and how to plug in and find service through the app. We felt totally confident and jazzed driving away in our brand new RZ450e!
When we came back the next day to drop off the second key fob for our trade-in, Rob came out with a big smile to see us in the new car, inviting any last questions. He actually hopped in to give us an extra tutorial on the garage door opener! The icing on the cake was the very kind offer for a future free detailing service on our new car since we had already paid our lease payment on the trade-in for the month. That was awesome!
The team at Ray Catena of Freehold clearly cares about doing right by their customers, even first time EV...
Read moreI want to start off by saying I created this account just to make a review . I’ve never made a review before I don’t believe in making bad reviews. I believe everybody has a bad day and business should never be hurt because of it. It’s what puts food on the table. So now let me begin by saying i’ve been a customer for Ray Catena Lexus Of Freehold For over 10 years. I’ve just purchased my fourth Lexus a month ago. JOHN AGNESE was the one who sold me the car. I called and told him that I needed a new car he gave me a price over the phone, I didn’t even negotiate with him I said OK and I went and picked up the car a few days later. I didn’t give him not one problem or complained once. In my past experience I’ve never gotten a bill from Lexus for any car that I have brought back. This time around I’ve gotten a bill in the mail for $2500 for damages on the car. I brought the car back the same way I’ve brought the last 2 cars back. Definitely not show room condition but not damaged either. I called John and told him about it and he really didn’t have anything to say to me . he told me to call myself and try to get it situated with Lexus financial. So I went ahead and did that even though he should’ve been the one to do that. They knocked the bill down tremendously and there was a small amount left of $700 that I was responsible for . Lexus financial called the dealership and ask them if they can take care of the bill and they said there’s nothing that they can do. They did not care that they were going to lose me as a customer after four Lexus’ and 10+ years later. Everybody that leases knows that when they stay with the same dealership there’s usually never issues with previous cars. I am extremely disappointed in the service that I was received. I don’t recommend anybody to use JOHN AGNESE when purchasing a car. He’s the only person I’ve ever had an issue with. I feel horrible even writing this review but he didn’t care at all for telling me that I am responsible for this money along with not trying to accommodate me in any way knowing what a loyal customer I am. I reccomend everyone to use...
Read moreGreat environment in this dealership, very straightforward. However, they do not care about you as a customer unless you are physically in their showroom. I went to check out a special on an IS350 F-Sport, where I thought the numbers would be impossible to reach, and I explained to the salesman and manager that I did not want to waste time if the numbers were too far apart (which they were) before an appraisal. They insisted on me waiting for the appraisal and luckily, my appraisal for my '21 TLX put me in a position for I was very close (roughly $20) apart from striking a deal. Because of the quickness of it all and before I made an impulsive decision, I asked them to give me until the night or morning to make a decision. I exchanged numbers with the salesman who was very generous, however became a tease when I left the dealer, stating that other's were looking at the car and about to buy it. Not even 3 hours after leaving the dealership, they had sold the car we spent 2 hours working a deal on, which makes it seem like they wasted my time. If they were so certain about selling this car and could not even give me a night to think it over, even would have left a deposit if they had told me if I walk out the deal would be void unless I left one, I would have. Poor leadership and very wrong business practice to tell a customer you have the night to think this through and then text me three hours later literally stating, "your car sold..." . Lesson learned that if you need a day to make a decision on a 50k purchase and they want 500$ to buy you that time, give it to them otherwise they will just take advantage on the next customer that walks in the showroom. Customer loyalty and time is thrown out the door in 2022, where dealers are just selling to anyone and anything bc the market is in their favor right now (low supply, high demand = no incentives). Sad because I had a good experience up until they disappointed me three hours later by selling the car we were worked a deal...
