First of all, despite being a small, privately-owned building, these people DO cooperate with Fandango, so if you make plans to stop in, the price is reduced and you're guaranteed a VIP seat by ordering ahead of time.
Fremont Cinemas is small, cute, and has a backwater feeling to it. It was fun to grow up near this theater (though it's now under new ownership).
There are reviews here on google mentioning that the remodeling cannot be identified; rest assured, the writers of those reviews are not paying attention and/or have not been here before. Fremont Cinemas actually bought out the next lot over in the building, and even has a new screen (though the seating and space aren't as comfortable). The two primary screens have that cute "VIP" seating that's been going around for the last handful of years, as well. The standard seating is cramped, though. I would highly recommend paying the extra dollar or two for VIP seats. Spacious recliners!
On that note, however, the footrest gradually lowers itself. I generally need to adjust this three to five times per two-hour movie. VIP seating also includes a tablet with which to order snacks and refills. I'm not sure if they've fixed this since my last visit (early 2018), but in the three years or so that these tablets have been here, they have NEVER worked. I'd still say VIP is worth the price of admission in comparison to the standard seating, but only because the standard seating is REALLY not fun if you're at least 5'5". Take turns with the armrests.
As mentioned before, the third screen in another part of the building isn't comfortable. The seats are small and far too close to the screen. More or less, if the screen could fall flat over the seats, it would cover everything except the last three or four rows. Sitting against the back wall has been my best choice in this room.
The staff is mostly almost machine-like at the counter. They just process your purchase and tell you to enjoy the movie. However, most of them will be very human and polite if you ask about the movies in detail, especially if you go for their opinion. Their tastes also differ from one to the next, so it can be fun to just hang out in the lobby with them before your movie starts or while you're waiting for anyone you're with to do their business in the restroom. Consider that they're still working, though - don't talk their ears off.
All in all, if you're in town (residence or visiting) and want to see a movie, I would say this is close enough to ideal when you go with...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by this quaint small-town theatre. The price for my ticket was only 9 dollars. The seats were comfy. It wasn't perfect but it was comfortable and the staff was top notch. I chose not to purchase snacks because I had a lot of people with me and cash was tight, so I was VERY THIRSTY coming back out. That's when I saw that the water fountain was broken. I expressed my disgust ( like humans do) and an angel stepped from behind the counter and said Would you like some water? I was surprised but said Actually yes I would. He got me a cup of water with ice for free and apologized for the drinking fountain being down. Then we chatted about the movie. This act of kindness alone( and the overlook of my snarky drinking fountain comment ) will bring me back. I will be telling my friends my experience as well. So glad to have such a great place so locally! Better than a trip to G.R. or...
Read moreNew partners took a sad community gem and put in a TON of work. Thousands upon thousands of hours. They emptied dumpsters of random “stuff” out and rebuilt theater 3, complete with an awesome sound upgrade! Their brand new robust website allowed customers to view upcoming showtimes and purchase tickets ahead of time. Then they switched to another new but generic website that offers…showtimes. They were working on seat numbering in summer 2022 so guests could reserve their block of seats all together instead of sitting three in one row and two a row behind, etc. Unfortunately that effort appears to have been abandoned. The staff used to be more friendly. They do have great prices and like to keep the place clean. They could use more VIP leather seats that aren’t ripped, but it’s still a nice little theater. Check it...
