I have been a patient of Dr Nayan P. Desai for over a decade, likely almost 20 years. His level of care, concern, patient education, encouragement, and compassion are exactly what you hope to find in a doctor, especially if you have a chronic neurological condition. He is one of a number of Palo Alto Medical Foundation's doctors that keep me from ever leaving their team of doctors. My husband has even changed or accepted jobs to make sure we always have an insurance they accept. I had some weird sensations in hands and progressive leg tightness. This was going on and more symptomatic for at least 1 year and mild symptomatic for about 5 years.

On repeated requests from me for Brain MRI, i was referred to Dr Desai.

Dr Desai went about this in a very methodical manner. He first ordered EMG tests of hands, followed it up with EMG tests of legs. He then eventually ordered Cervical Spine MRI and lumbar spine MRI. This finally led to the detection of rare large tumor in the spinal cord and in the spinal canal.

When the tumor was found, Dr Desai referred me to top Neurosurgeon for further treatment.
