A Fiery Feast at Port of Peri Peri!
Port of Peri Peri truly delivers when it comes to flavor, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating for its food. From the moment you bite into their signature peri peri chicken, you're hit with a vibrant, zesty, and perfectly spiced kick that's both exhilarating and addictive. The chicken itself is consistently tender and juicy, clearly marinated with care, and cooked to perfection, with a wonderfully charred exterior. Beyond the star attraction, their sides are equally impressive – think perfectly crispy fries, fried cassava, which complement the main dishes beautifully. It's clear that a lot of thought goes into crafting a memorable culinary experience. The service, rated at 4 stars, is generally efficient and friendly. Staff members are typically welcoming and quick to take orders, ensuring that your food arrives promptly. While they are attentive, there might be occasional moments during peak hours where the bustling atmosphere means a slight delay, but nothing that detracts significantly from the overall positive experience. They're happy to explain the spice levels. The atmosphere, while still pleasant, comes in at 3 stars. Port of Peri Peri often has a casual, no-frills vibe that focuses more on the food than the decor. You'll find it clean and functional, often with a lively buzz, especially during busy meal times. While it's great for a quick and satisfying meal with friends or family, it might not be the go-to spot for a quiet, intimate dinner. The lighting and seating are practical, but the ambiance doesn't necessarily aim for a unique or deeply curated aesthetic. Also, their bathroom needs good attention. Overall, if you're craving bold flavors and expertly cooked peri peri chicken, Port of Peri Peri is a must-visit. The food alone is enough to draw you back again and again, and the solid service ensures a pleasant dining experience. Just be prepared for a more casual setting, where the real star of the show is undeniably...
Read moreUpdated review (4.26.20) Picked up carry out burger sizzler and chicken wrap. The chunks of chicken in both the wrap and burger were way too huge, dry and chewy. I feel things aren't consistent and the Peri Peri fries are almost always soft and never crisp or crunchy, which is disappointing because I love fries. Also the tortilla for the wrap tasted very dry, which made the wrap fall apart. Don't think il get a wrap in the future. I've had it in the past it has been better with smaller pieces and thinner wrap size. Lack of consistency with chicken is something that needs improvment.
I would give this place 5 stars if I could. Giving 4 because their sauce scale is way more on the spicy side. I've had Nandos more than a dozen times so am comparing my experience here to them, and Nandos sauces are more in line with what you get. Mild is mild, medium is medium, etc. At Port of Peri Peri, be warned that their mild is more medium to hot and their medium is hot to very hot. Aside from that, this is definitely on par with Nandos style. Only wish their sauces were evened out. Management hopefully you're listening, you'll have way more happy customers if you go back and check your sauce spiciness. The chicken is very good. The few times I've had their Peri Peri fries, they tasted soft /oily and not crispy as a French fry should be. Hopefully they'll address that and improve on my next visit.
I'll still be coming back but will keep to my mild sauce level for...

Possibly the worst dining I’ve ever had. We arrived with 6 people and we were the only diners there at first. We all ordered and then watched as our food was delivered one dish by one dish over the course of an hour. No exaggeration. And what hit the table was practically inedible. Chicken as tough as garden hose, food plated like it was scooped from the floor. The kitchen was a mess in all senses of the word. I'm pretty sure the cooks were drunk. The poor kid working the register had to take all of the heat from the many angry customers.
I was particularly disgusted when, after leaving the disgusting bathroom with my handicapped father, I sat and watched as a completely inebriated employee standing half inside the restaurant with the back door propped open urinated just outside the restaurant. He proceeded to pass out at a table in the dining room where he stayed for our entire unfortunate dinner. Easy work if you can get it.
Every person who paid money to this restaurant on this night was taken advantage of. Just simply...
