It’s not every day you see someone turn their passion into a full-fledged culinary experience, and I couldn’t be happier to see Imad open Chowrasta. I’ve known Imad’s cooking through catering for multiple events over the past few years, and he has never disappointed. Every single time, his food stood out for its authenticity, flavor, and soul and this restaurant is just a beautiful continuation of that legacy.
Walking into Chowrasta, I felt a deep sense of familiarity not just because I know the person behind it, but because everything from the aroma of spices to the casual, inviting vibe of the place reminded me of home. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a heartfelt tribute to true Hyderabadi cuisine.
Here’s what we tried: Mutton Biryani – 20/10 It’s hard to put into words how good this biryani is. Perfectly layered, fragrant, and with tender mutton that practically melts in your mouth. This is the kind of biryani that sets the standard. I’ve tried biryani at every notable Hyderabadi spot in the Bay Area, and this one easily tops the list. It’s comfort food and celebration rolled into one. Chicken 65 – 9/10 Crispy, spicy, with just the right touch of tang. It had that unmistakable South Indian flavor profile not overly greasy, just perfectly balanced. Chicken Sticks – 9/10 Crispy chicken that will definitely remind you of a Hyderabadi wedding. This one took me by surprise. Chai – 20/10 Yes, you read that right. This chai deserves its own rating. It’s not just tea — it’s the kind of chai you’d be served in a friend’s home in Hyderabad, with all the warmth and soul that comes with it. You’ll be thinking about it long after you leave.
The ambience is casual yet thoughtful, with a clean, welcoming layout that makes you feel at ease whether you’re dining solo or with family. The service was genuinely warm. They also have a small praying area.
Pro tip on parking: During peak hours, parking can be a bit tight, but the adjacent office parking opens up in the evenings, which really helps.
I can already tell this is going to be one of my go-to places. There’s a kind of care and sincerity in the food that’s rare to find, especially in restaurants that are just starting out. I truly hope Imad and his team continue to thrive — because when a place cooks with this much heart, it deserves all the success...

We ordered mutton biryani, chicken 65, majestic chicken and my God, they all tasted so authentically Hyderabadi. The mutton was well cooked, tender and flavorful. Chicken was juicy and soft— perfect for every bite with rumali roti.
The ambience is lit and the interiors give it a an old-school nizami vibe.
Service is top notch, though we waited for our piping hot biryani to be served, it was definitely worth the wait. If there’s one thing you can’t rush it’s the “dum” of the biryani!
The owners specifically came out to meet the patrons on their table, served food and made sure the customers felt the Hyderabadi Mehmaan-nawaazi and that’s a rarity to experience here in bay area! So full marks on that.
Rest, the food speaks for itself! 10/10 would recommend. They undertake catering as well so now we know where to place an order for the dum biryani for the next...

The highlight of the menu is, of course, the Hyderabadi biryani—perfectly cooked basmati rice infused with fragrant spices and tender, juicy meat. The mirchi ka salan and raita served alongside enhance the dish beautifully. Other standouts include the rich and creamy Haleem, the spicy and flavorful Chicken 65.
The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes and quality of food. Given the authenticity and richness of the dishes, it’s worth every penny.
Whether you’re a fan of Hyderabadi cuisine or trying it for the first time, CHOWRASTA delivers an unforgettable culinary experience. Highly recommended for food lovers looking for bold flavors and traditional charm.
Planning to try the whole menu slowly.
Thanks alot...
