Potter Liquor — Local services in Friendswood

Yelp reviews seem to tell a much more honest tale of how service goes in this establishment.

We ordered through Uber about an hour before the store closed. 8:50 and Uber is alerting us to call the store, because we haven't received anything yet. Apparently some businesses use their own drivers, so there was also no way to track the order.

I call the store (during open hours) and no answer. Call again and explain that I was told to call and check. She corrects me and says the order was placed 12 minutes ago (it wasn't - there's a clear record of it on Uber) and that someone already "picked it up". But don't you use your own driver...? I was suspicious, but thanked her and hung up.

Needless to say, by 9:15, the order came back as having been canceled by the store. I guess I find it strange that a small store, with so few reviews wouldn't want business - late night or otherwise. I didn't get her name, but I can imagine the sort of person she is from just 60 seconds of speaking with her.

First and last time ordering...

They were very helpful in helping me decide which spiced rum to choose as they have a huge selection of all kinds and types of liquor. I was uncertain the differences in the brands and types and proofs. The employees were very familiar with the different proofs and kinds of rum. I'll definitely be coming back when I need anymore liquors and advice when I'm entertaining company again. Maybe next time ill try a...

The Potter Liquor on N Friendswood is an excellent neighborhood gem. In a small space I found all the expected stuff featured as well as some unexpected not carried everywhere, even Total Wine.
