Store was clean and well stocked.
However, they do not allow you to take the shopping carts out of the store. Apparently this is standard at all stores? I didn't notice any signs and no staff warned me.
As a parent shopping alone with 2 small children there's no way that I can get to the car safely with all of my items purchased and my children without the cart.
The store is paying someone to stand at the door as a security guard. As I tried to leave with the cart an alarm sounded and the wheels locked. The guard moved my cart out of everyone's way and watched silently as I struggled to figure out how to leave with my baby in the car seat, my toddler, and my huge bag of stuff. Both kids were then screaming because of the alarm. Thank goodness for a kind stranger who offered to help me carry my things.
I told the security guard that I will never shop there again because of this inconvenience.
This is not a store for people with small children and also it is not a store for people with disabilities who need the cart to lean on and cannot physically carry all their things to this car. I have since learned that someone could have helped me if I had asked.... I should not have had to. I shared this story on my neighborhood facebook page and several other parents of small children had the same experience- no warning and staff watching them struggle rather than offering to help ...

Read moreBeware, you may not get a full refund for you items when doing a return. I stopped in to return a jacket I purchased for a trip north. As I checked the weather for my trip, the temps warmed up considerably and did not to take the jacket since it was heavier than I would need. When returning the jacket I was told I would only get 1/2 of what I paid for it. I saved the receipt and the tags were still on the jacket. Apparently I waited to long for a return. There is not a Burlington near me and this was the first opportunity I had to the return. They said there was nothing that could be done. I’ve had similar situations like this at other retailers when doing returns, but that was always if I lost the receipt. I will make sure to never buy anything from Burlington again that I may...
