Burger Barn Grill — Restaurant in Florida

Don’t waste your time, go to any fast food restaurant for a better burger experience. I am a burger fanatic and I was looking forward to finally trying this place out. I can tell you that my burger from Wendy’s a few weeks ago taste better then the burger I received from this restaurant. To start the young lady that took our order did not even give me a warm welcome. She simply asked if the order was dine-in or takeout. After placing my order for a BACON cheeseburger, the young lady flipped her screen around and asked me to double check if everything was correct. The order on the screen reflected my order. I received my order and took it to my car as it was a takeout order. I was starving so I decided to peek in the bag and grab a fry. I bit into the fry and the fry bit me back...it was amazing, so much flavor and the perfect level of crisp. BUT BOOOYYY, when I got to the burger, it was nothing but disappointment. I almost cried because there was no BACON on my BACON cheeseburger! I could have saved a few dollars if I didn’t want bacon on my burger and gotten a dried up regular cheeseburger, but I digress. Let’s break this thing down real quick, level by level. I’ll start with the bun. The bun was subpar, it was flat, soft, flavorless. I was expecting a little butter flavor action when I bit into it. Next, I paid extra for the grilled onions and I could only find two slivers of onion on my burger. The lettuce could have been left off because it looked like it went through a phase of deep depression and wanted to slide off my burger. The cheese was cheese so I can’t really say anything about that. Last but not least the meat! Air has more flavor then their meat does. I don’t even think they put one speck of salt or pepper on the burger patty. All in all, please save yourself $20 and just go to five guys or any other fast food...

My wife and I were excited to finally get around to trying this highly anticipated place. I have to say after reading other's reviews, our does not match most, unfortunately. I was also surprised because it smelled good upon entry. Clean too. However, we ordered the bourbon wings, southwest burger, and Hawaiian burger and fries. The wings were crispy but totally bland and so were the fries, sadly. My wife said her SW burger was just ok. However, as much as I hate to say, the Hawaiian burger was among the worst I've ever eaten of any burger period. In fact I didn't finish it. And just for reference, one of my favorite burgers all time is a Hawaiian burger from BYB (Back Yard Burgers). I'm truly don't like leaving a completely negative review, but honestly the food didn't have any bright spots. I have a feeling the burgers start out as frozen patties as flat as they are without being a smash burger. The pineapple was so sour that it probably was canned, then grilled. I couldn't even taste the sauce. On the way out, we politely asked another couple what they thought to make sure it wasn't just us or our particular experience. We kind of hoped they thought differently, prompting us to consider giving it another try. They shrugged and apologized as they seemed to think the same of their burgers being bland for one and the other didn't like it either. Tickled to death to have found this place. I called ahead and spoke to Andy to ask questions about gluten free food preparation and options. Not often do I get a warm and fuzzy feeling about a new place, but I got it here. I asked if it's best to call my order in or place it online and he offered to take it then. The store still didn't open for another ten minutes. Shame on me for not getting the names of the two people at the counter when I picked up the order because they were delightful. The young woman was warm and welcoming, the young man was engaging and helpful. I mentioned I had called and spoke to Andy. Turns out Andy is the manager and is out of state even though he took my call (I had selected 1 to speak with manager) AND took my order. He called the store to tell them the order and to handle appropriately due to the food restrictions.

It was really nice that even though the manager was out of town, the team was still united with proper communication. It was a great experience with the staff for sure.

The burger was delicious! I do wish their was a gluten free side option, but that's ok. I will absolutely be coming back to the Burger Barn and will be sure to get the names of those individuals that helped me today, too!
