UPDATE: 6 weeks after I posted this, the amethyst stone that matched the one that fell out, ALSO fell out….I had to pay a different jeweler to replace both those stones and also to retighten my black diamond on my wedding band and surprise surprise, it did not need the prongs replaced….still no word from Dimo.
Four months ago, I brought my black diamond ring to have my main stone tightened because it was loose. I paid over $60. The very next day, it was loose again. I brought it back and they fixed it again. Two weeks later I brought my tennis bracelet to have an amethyst reattached because it had fallen out. I paid over $25 for that. One week later the same amethyst fell out and I lost it. When I called they said there was nothing that they could do. Today I realized my black diamond is once again loose. I brought it back to have them tighten it. She asked if I had purchased it there. When I said no, She then asked me what I wanted them to do about it. I told her it wasn’t about the money. That I would pay again if need be. That I couldn’t take it to the original jeweler because he had retired. She then tried to up-sell me into replacing the prongs and I said I just want to have it tightened for now. That maybe at another time, I’d see about replacing the prongs. That’s when I’m told that they have to keep it because their jeweler is off today and tomorrow and the only other person who can fix it is on vacation….maybe it’s just a coincidence. I was going to purchase a watch for my husband as a gift and shopped a few stores, none of the staff members at other stores were as kind and willing to provide as much info as Robert at Dimo’s. I purchased the watch from Dimo and have had awesome service from them.
A couple of weeks ago I took my platinum wedding ring in to be polished and have the setting checked. The ring was several years old and I was not happy with the lack of luster on the band. By chance, Lucy was the team member that assisted me. My lucky day! It seems one of Lucy’s talents is designing rings. I had some older rings that I did not wear and she created an absolutely beautiful ring for me from my wedding ring and several diamonds from the other rings. She told me it would take two weeks and I picked it up today. Exactly as promised. I believe Robert created the ring from Lucy’s design. Every word they told me was 100% TRUTH.
My belief is this is the best jewelry store anywhere. Their new building is absolutely beautiful and the staff could not be any kinder. I believe, myself and other customers benefit because this is a family business. Thanks so much Lucy, you are the BEST. The service you offer Gainesville and surrounding areas is greatly appreciated.

I took my engagement ring for a new appraisal in July 2023 to Dimo fine jewelry. It was recommended to me by State Farm my new insurance company. We moved To Oakwood, Georgia on July 10, 2023. The last time my ring was appraised was in 2003. My diamond was swapped by another jeweler in 2004. The ring was not looked at again until July when State Farm require a new appraisal. My ring is beautiful but my diamond is different. It is slightly smaller and very inferior to the original stone. Know your jeweler better than your doctor.
