Normally I don't write a review unless I'm able to write a positive one. But I need closure. I think under normal circumstances, this is a very good furniture store. I'm 83 years old & needed a power lift chair. Because I can't walk far and color & price were important to me, I chose to call six area stores to make sure they had what I wanted. Gallery had the best price and the color (beige) I wanted and Donna was nice on the phone. We drove to the store that very afternoon. (Sept 30). Donna was also nice in person, showed me the recliner she'd discussed on the phone, calling it "sand" color. Another lady had come in before me and she mistakenly thought she was me. That lady bought the same chair, but in a taupe color, Donna said. I looked at that color when she was on a phone call. I didn't like it nearly as well, so decided to purchase the "sand" one. Donna and I chatted a bit and I remember her saying her 82-year-old mother needed one of these chairs. The chair (sku # TT850) was to be delivered later that day. It didn't come, so next day (Friday) I called and was told it would be delivered later that day. It didn't get here until after 7 pm, and I noticed it appeared to be darker than the one in the store. I was tired and thought maybe it would look different in daylight hours. However, the next day I was sure it was not the one I'd chosen. When I called about it, I was told it must just look darker, but was the chair I ordered. I went online to the Steve Silver (Manufacturer) website and saw that the Sku# 850C looked the most like what I'd chosen at the store. The color name was "camel" (which usually would mean "tan") though. I printed it from the website and also took a picture of the taupe-colored one Gallery had delivered. Although they invited me to come to the store to look at the chairs, I didn't go until Monday, Oct 4th, taking both photos with me. I didn't expect the "sand" chair to be there...(there had been just one) and it wasn't. Donna, + the store Mgr and the delivery man were all 3 there. The Mgr showed me in Steve Silver's catalogue, that were just two colors...so I couldn't have received a lighter one. The two colors were 850 C & 850 CW. That proved nothing. The Sku # on my receipt stated TT 850 (no letters). My conclusion is that Sku # was no longer in stock and I had chosen the last "sand" one from a previous year's stock. The bottom line is that the lift chair I'd chosen was no longer there. Whether someone had come in right after me and purchased it (highly unlikely) or it was delivered to Donna's mother or another reason...all I know is that I didn't get the chair I wanted. I'm very good with colors & have an excellent memory! They offered to come get it from my house, but whereas it wasn't my first choice, the chair color is not that bad, and it is comfortable & the price was right. Color is very important to me, though...so I would have preferred they let me pick out another chair in the lighter color I wanted. Instead, they tried to made me feel foolish by insisting the chair they delivered was I one I bought. That is not good business and in my case, at least, they do not work with the premise that the customer is "always right"! This was most likely a "fluke", and under normal circumstances, I'd say they are a good store! Like I said...I just need closure so I can get on...

I just wish to move on from my experience here and provide disclosure to anyone who may be considering to purchase furniture here. I whole heartedly believe in posting positive reviews as well and it pains me to have to change this one from 5 to 1 star. So here’s the deal...

After hearing her several discriminatory comments about minority groups I am very sad to say that my family and friends have concluded that this is either because I am LGBT or because I brought in my Latin roommate and Latin friend (who looks black). Each day that one was in, a hurtful comment was made about the other’s race.

Lastly, Don’t let the “deals” fool you. I ordered my bed off of AllModern and my memeory mattress off of Amazon and they showed up in a week and I paid the exact same for my stuff and even less for my roommates. All of the stuff is very cute, arrived within a week and is high quality.

To the owner: Love is love. And people are simply people. Race and sexual orientation are not things that you should concern yourself with. Please be kinder to people. They deserve it. I didn’t go back to your business because Gallery Furniture is quality or y’alls “deals”. Money isn’t an issue. I went back because I thought that you were a small & kind business in a small town. In the conversation where you refused to deliver the items that I paid for, “I cannot accomodate your delivery” even though others at your business have effortless done it before because it is extremely simple... It is unfortunate if anything that I said to you while expressing my disappointment in you as a person offended you. But I do not believe anything said by me missed the mark. I really hope that you do better as a human. It’s really a shame. And I would hate for somebody to treat you the way that you treated my family, friends, and me. I’ve purchased everything I wanted somewhere else and I will not be returning or sending anyone there. And if you haven’t forgotten I work with a building that contains over 700 residents. People ask me where to buy furniture all the time. Again, do better. I will be writing the BBB.

Kindest...

My roommate and I spent nearly $2k in total on bedroom furniture from these guys and they refused to deliver as promised.

When we made our initial purchase, we were told that we would be able to receive our furniture in about 2 weeks (after her delivery guys were back from vacation). Well, two weeks came and went and we were never given a confirmation on when or even if our furniture was being delivered to us.

Suddenly, one day they told us that they would "not be able to accommodate [our] delivery" and that we were welcome to pick up furniture ourselves. Ignoring the fact that my roommate and I probably only weigh 290lbs total and are 5'6" each, the pick up location was almost 2 hours away (and they refused to send our furniture to their sister location that is only 30 min from us). While we were still weighing our options on whether to wait for delivery or pick up on our own, they sent us a refund check in the mail without our consent and without notifying us.

The worst thing about all of this was that we were dealing directly with the owner herself and she was the one who did everything mentioned in this review.

Due to things I overheard her say in passing, I don't know if our treatment was because she didn't like the way we looked, the color of our skin, or because of the way we spoke, but it was definitely made clear to me that this woman holds prejudice in her heart and I do not feel that this is a business I would want to deal...

This furniture store is a hidden gem in plain sight. I remember the commercials from back in the day with Ms. Donna and her father. “Ask for the Wolfman, Ask for Donna”. The building is basic and doesn’t have a showroom quality at all, more like a warehouse. But who cares what the building looks like?! Because if you think about it, when you buy furniture you are paying for the furniture as well as a piece for the furniture store. I believe that because the location doesn’t have the showroom you would expect at a furniture store that the savings is passed on to the customer. We have bought several furniture sets from Ms. Donna and her staff and everyone is always so friendly and helpful. Let’s not forget about the furniture- they offer big brand names like you would get elsewhere with discounts all the time. You don’t have to wait for a sale to get a great price here. I would highly recommend them. In fact, we often get compliments on our dining room set and people are shocked when I tell them where we got it and for how much. Give them a chance and stop in to see what inventory they have, if they don’t have what you want they will show you a massive catalog and online collection that you can order from.

I would have to say, the attention that we were given upon our arrival at Gallery Furniture was amazing. The ability to make sure that all of our furniture needs were met and we were getting the best pricing around was spot on. The majority of our order was in Warehouse and we could have in a matter of days, which was great!! I did pick an ottoman to go with our new Living room suit that was not an in-stock item. I was told at the time, it MAY take up to 6 weeks, but typically it is not that long of a wait. However; after three months and weekly phone calls inquiring about it later, my ottoman was ORDERED today. They just don't know what happened, and I don't either. I would have thought, that after my 6 weeks and I started making WEEKLY phone calls they would have ordered it sooner. UPDATE: 2/27 Little did I know that there were extenuating circumstances surrounding my order. THANK YOU Gallery Furniture for explaining the situation and correcting it ASAP. I truly appreciate your effort and attentiveness to my order, you guys went ABOVE AND BEYOND!
