Stomping Grounds Game Center — Local services in Gainesville

Great place and great people- I moved to Florida a few years ago from New York and I was so sad when I realized I wouldn’t be able to regularly go to my favorite used game store whenever I needed something or just wanted to look around- well.. I gotta say this store has MORE than replaced that feeling. The people who work there are really chill, nice and accepting of everyone. I love that they are who they are and it’s such a safe place that they make you feel like your just hanging out with a few friends- I work as a teacher down the road from the store and stop in after work every now and then. The only reason I avoid going something’s is because I KNOW I’ll be there for at least 2 hours because I have so much fun sitting and talking with everyone 😆- seriously a great store- if your trading any games or game consoles/accessories I would suggest going here instead of GameStop- with a lot of their stuff they give you a better deal. They also do work on consoles and accessories- you can order games with them if they don’t have something you’re looking for as well. When I call them they know exactly who I am now, so they are my go to buddy’s when it comes to questions about ANY console and I mean ANY! Thanks guys, your awesome. Keep on...

Having shopped with Joey and his staff at Stomping Grounds for a few years now I can say, without hesitation, they are THE most knowledgeable guys around for retro gaming. Joey has modded/fixed/upgraded several machines for me and each one has worked perfectly. Their skills and the fact that if a problem arises they have super cool about working with you to fix it, make this my go-to gaming destination.

In terms of inventory and games they are always getting new stuff, so stop by weekly to see the new arrivals! Atari, NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1/2/3/4, Xbox, etc ...he has it all. OEM parts and New aftermarket parts and controllers as well.

Lastly I'll say their trade in prices cannot be beat...by anyone. I always feel like I got a great value and Joey is quick to fix/adjust prices for any issues that arise. Bring your old stuff in for trade/cash, he'll pay you more than any other gaming...

Look. This place is beyond legit. Wes was kind enough to humor my requests to look for some white whales of mine, he was terribly friendly. Coming from out of town to visit UF this was a total gem mine of a place. HUGE SELECTION of Amiibo, plushies, retro(which I'm extremely into), counsels both common n rare, hand helds, lots of SNES/DS/3DS, modern day game and lots of friendly faces.

If you enjoy any of this stuff IT WOULD BE A DISSERVICE FOR YOU NOT TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT.

Also they had a bunch of huge tables in the back for locals to kick back or bust out some decks. They also offered to let me use their Wi-Fi.
