This is the old Lucky's space and it is HUGE! It is always clean and you can find good deals if you shop wisely. The have a full service Deli and Bakery. Their is always someone around to help if you need them. I have been buying a lot of fresh fruit there. I also find that the Winn Dixie Brands of products and baked goods very nice. The area for sodas and sparkling water is to the far side to the left and back around from the baked goods. It is a enormous area. It's not like a Super Walmart or Lowe's in size but larger than your average grocery store. So it's not overwhelming. They can have some really good deals on meat products. Pork seems to be always on sale when I go there. I am sure that changes to other products but I don't shop there weekly. I go there a lot of the time after 9 PM because they are open until 10 PM. Which is VERY convenient. They also have the separated liquor store that was there prior when Lucky's was in the same building. There is no entrance to the liquor store from the inside of Winn-Dixie's you have to go outside to get there. Though it is a part of Winn-Dixie. The same thing you find in...
Read moreOn 2/11/24, visited the store and a few packages of beef were very brown/ gray (disgusting!). I checked out with cashier, Kamryn. She piled food in the bags, giving no thought to improper mixing of items, i.e. window cleanser mixed in bag with small containers of cold milk and gum. I don't think it is EVER acceptable to mix chemicals and food when bagging. Additionally, she left the bags on the counter and NEVER attempted to place in my cart. She just stood there. I place as many bags as I could towards my end and went to move cart around to get the remaining bags, she quickly said "don't forget the rest, you wouldn't want to leave your eggs or anything!" While loading my cart, she began to get the next customer in line. After placing bags in the car, I noticed that Kamryn had not given me my receipt. I had to go back in. She saw my and pointed to the receipt on the counter. Never once apologizing. Why have her as a cashier when even I, as a senior citizen, could have performed the same functions at the self-checkout? Will I go back? NO..... I'll go to the Publix down the road, which is still on my way home. BAD...
Read moreThis is the cleanest and nicest Winn-Dixie in town. They have great deals, features a food bar and an actual bar too! You can literally have a beer while doing your shopping or just simply drink a beer. Never thought I'd sometimes go to a super market to drink beer.
They have self checkout lines too and their cash registers are always manned. I also love that they have what I like to call "metro-carts" which are shopping carts that are about a quarter size of the size of a full shopping cart (something Publix doesn't have). They are smaller, more maneuverable, and since they're smaller you're less likely to over fill it with things you don't need (hehe). But I just like using those carts over full size carts or hand baskets because I usually shop in small quantities anyways so I don't like pushing around an oversized cart yet I'm able to carry more things than lugging around a hand basket. Its the best of both worlds. Of course if you do need a full size cart they have them.
I'm a die-hard Publix shopper but if I'm closer to Winn-Dixie (and in the mood to drink a pint while I shop) I never hesitate to go to...
