Hunan Cafe — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

I love Hunan Cafe! I have been going to Hunan Cafe since they opened. Reading the negative reviews has been so odd because my experience has been great every time. I’ve had take out, dine-in, and delivery. I have ate their combination friend rice (no vegetables), combination lo mein, General Tso Chicken, Orange Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Chicken and Broccoli, Egg Drop Soup, Wonton Soup. They have not failed me. We have recommended Hunan Cafe to everyone we know and they’ve had great experience as well. We even have a family friend who buys platters worth of their food and brings it to events or when they visit us. The owners of Hunan are great. The woman always remembers my order, answers the phone knowing it’s me, takes time to ask about my husband when she doesn’t see him. Even asks about my brother in law because she remembers the first time I brought him and my husband to dine in almost 7 years ago! If anyone has had a bad experience it’s probably been a bad day (everyone has bad or off days) for them and/or has been rude to the woman first to receive an attitude from her. I don’t go to any other Chinese restaurant anymore because whenever I have, it’s always ended up bad for me. So I’ve stayed with Hunan Cafe and I’m glad to see they have persevered...

This is the WORST food place I have ever eaten. 1 star is saying to much… Yes everyone was friendly but me and my 11 year old have been sick for a week now because of eating food from here. When my husband was walking up to the door to get our food he said someone out side told him “do not eat there it makes you sick” and I feel stupid for not listening to that warning. I don’t know what they put in their food or what is wrong with it but I have never in my life gotten THIS SICK from food before. It is painful & nauseating! I guess this is “food poisoning” but seriously if you do eat food from here atleast take a few bites wait & then see because me & my son ate our ENTIRE meals & Im telling you if anyone is reading this PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN! Idk when this pain is going to stop but I have literally had to keep my kid home from school…. PLZ DO NOT EAT HERE I IGNORED THE WARNING & VERY VERY...

I’ve come here off & on for years. Haven’t been there in a while. Stop today to get combination fried rice. Upon arriving home and tasting it, it was extra salty and it taste freezer burned…. Not sure if it was the vegetables, the meat or what. Though when I called, she act like she didn’t know what I was talking about… Suggested I drive 30 minutes back with rush-hour 45 minutes to an hour back and she would refund me upon returning the bad food…. I explained it would cost me more in gas to drive up there to include. I was not getting back in the middle of rush-hour at 6:00 PM. To say the least, she hung the phone up in my face in the end.

I would never, ever visit this establishment again and recommend no one who is looking for good fresh food to patron their establishment… Good Luck &...
