☆☆☆☆☆☆ MUST READ! ☆☆☆☆☆☆
On Tuesday Jan 28, my mother and I, went to Amigo Toyota as my mother was looking to buy a Tacoma. We met a saleswoman, named Angie Craig. We spoke to her explaining we were looking for a used Tacoma. She explained to us that there was nothing available as the last 2 were on hold. She said if anything opens up we'd be the first to know.
Well an hour later, to our suprise, we received a phone called and Angie said one was available, so my mother and I raced back with excitement. When we arrived we absolutely liked what we saw, so we went for a test drive, and afterwards I went over every inch of the truck. After much inspection, including crawling under the truck we told her we'll take the truck, but we asked to have new tires installed. We were 100% committed, at that time, as we already had a loan approved for it through our credit union.
Angie was so helpful and friendly during the whole transaction and the mood was great. She went above and beyond for us and was very friendly and kind during this whole experience. A Trait and character every salesman should have. She definitely cared for us and definitely looked out for our intrest. She said we just had to wait so the tires could get approved. We sat and chatting and laughing amongst ourselves as she was happy and we were definitely happy as we finally found something we really liked. We've been searching rigorously for the last 3 months straight for the right truck, and WE FOUND IT!
At that very moment a salesman walks over to us with a big smile, thinking he was going to congratulate us on our new purchase, instead with that huge smile on his face he said to Angie "Where's the keys, I just sold the white truck!" I looked at the guy and said to him were taking it and he said to us "Well we waited!" Angie's face was absolutely shocked as was ours. We were all speechless and shocked as we just spent more than an hour looking and inspecting the vehicle. We had the keys in hand and we went for the test drive and this salesman clearly knew that, but sold the truck right under us.
He had absolutely no regard for Angie and my mother and I and took it upon himself to sell the truck knowing we were going to purchase the truck. He didn't even have the courtesy or respect to come over to tell Angie if we don't buy the truck he had a customer next in line, but instead he insidiously went behind Angie's back and sold the truck knowing full well we were taking it. He didn't even have the respect to tell us, ahead of time, that he was in the process of selling it. Had I known, I wouldn't have gotten dirty from crawling under the truck. That was absolutely DISGUSTING! what this salesman did to us and to make it worse he did it with a smile.
Angie, was sweet, kind, and friendly, and she definitely went out of her way to make us happy, and I suggest anyone looking to purchase a vehicle to ask for...
Read moreSold an 800-Mile "New" Car. Dishonest, Unprofessional, and Unapologetic.
We had a profoundly disappointing experience purchasing a vehicle from this dealership in July. What should have been exciting turned into a lesson in buyer beware.
We reserved the car on a 7/15 with a holding payment. Immediately after taking our money, our salesman ceased all communication. We had to follow up multiple times and he was never available. When we traveled two hours to pick up the car on 7/19, he was not even there; someone else filled in.
The vehicle itself was the biggest issue. It had 800 miles on the odometer and was sold as new. Even with a full week's notice to get it detailed, the condition was appalling: Filthy Interior: Red lipstick and multiple coffee stains in the cup holders and on the seats. We had to request a wipe down. Neglected Details: The back seat carpet was dirty, with a fingernail clipping and other debris, as if it had never been vacuumed. Extensive Prior Use: We discovered **four phones were still synced to the Bluetooth, proving at least four different people had used this "new" car extensively. Caked-On Dirt: Despite their claim it was "washed twice," red dirt kept seeping out from the undercarriage for days after we drove it home, suggesting significant off-road or personal use in Arizona. (We live in New Mexico) Broken Part: We found a broken bungee clip on the liftgate protector, a known issue we can assume was caused by one of the many people they allowed to use the vehicle and they failed to replace or disclose.
Exhausted from the trip, we didn't catch every detail at pickup—a situation they took advantage of.
The unprofessionalism continued post-sale. As our first payment due date approached, we had to follow up to finalize our financing with Toyota. Had we not reached out, we may have missed out first payment. When we needed new temp tags, they blamed the DMV but admitted they hadn't filed our paperwork until we called.
We completed their survey and heard nothing. This dealership is fundamentally dysfunctional. We would never recommend anyone purchase a vehicle here, especially a high-end one, as their employees clearly treat inventory like...
Read moreSold me a 2018 Honda Accord @ $6,000 above SRP . I took my car into Garcia Honda for repairs and upon the Service Manager looking into the repair history , he informed me that the repairs were more than likely a result of the car being in a Hurricane as the repair history showed water removal from the gas tank. The car originated from Florida. When I took the car back to Amigos to trade the car in , I was told the car was only valued @ $16,000. My original investment to the car was $26,000 just 6 months prior. I had put down $11,500 cash as a down payment . The car devalued $10,000 in 6 months which is unheard of . What it comes down to is they sold the vehicle to me @ 50% mark up. Buyers please look into the vehicle SRP before you buy here. I've purchased 6 vehicles prior to the Honda and never had to deal with price Gouging when Teri Profitt was alive. Ever since John Chavez took over , he's been pricing used vehicle above SRP to increase profits . Beware of new vehicles as well . I just purchased a 2023 Toyota Camry for $24,000 @ Larry H. Miller, well below the price of the 2018 Honda Accord purchased at Amigos 6 months ago.
I have 35 yrs of sales and management under my belt , not to mention running my own companies . If I can get bamboozled, you can too! Remember KBB can be your best friend when purchasing a new/used vehicle and can prevent what happened to me ,...
