(Approximately around 1:20pm Wed, July 18th).. I was ready to enjoy something different rather than your typical rushed lunch.. but today it was anything but comfortable.. tabitha, was our waitress. She was wearing black framed glasses and a blue shirt with a small ponytail. Only to be clear because there were two waitresses working the floor. Our waitress had no patience with us while we were trying to order our food. We were rushed and i wasn't able to really get a chance to look over the menu.. I had a few questions on a couple of the sandwiches, which would have been quick and to the point. But again, we were rushed. I ended up getting an open-faced cheeseburger, which is the #2. I was rudely reminded that what I was ordering was an open-face cheeseburger in which I responded by saying.. " yes, I know that ".. I had questions on the hatch buger and the #1 from the menu.. but I was again, rushed.. I " just " settled for the open-faced burger. To make it worse when I asked to have my son's wings started she replied , " so you're not ready? "... she said " Ok, so I'll just be back "... without giving me a chance to respond.. ultimately, it was a bad visit, even my 13 yr old son recognized it.. I didn't get what I wanted to eat.. to top that off instead of getting a few lunch orders to go, 2 of my cousins and aunt from Albuquerque settled for food elsewhere. I lost my appetite before I got my meal.. why would I order more, rite? I know I won't be back. Our waitress was wearing a blue shirt, black framed glasses.. I think she was Latina. Maybe friendly... but not with us. There was another waitress there wearing a red shirt very friendly and attentive to her guests. The cashier said " our " waitresses name is Tabitha. Not to confuse her with the taller waitress wearing the red shirt, whom I think is native American.. to the owners, I'm sure you have... but please take into consideration who is representing your establishment.. I know I would be embarrassed to have anyone represent me like that. My employer would have not taken any exceptions with that type of behavior....... There wasn't a posting for No Star's on this rating... So I settled...
Read moreThere are so many places to go here, and I’m so glad we decided this was the spot. The place was half full (but filling as dinner time neared). The staff was accommodating and efficient- service was VERY fast. The fries were the best any of us had had - straight from the fryer and seasoned well. Great big portions. Most of us had a variation of the Hatch burger - I got extra cheese. I also got a side of gravy for the fries (recommended by another review - thanks) so I could also dip them in a sort of cilantro/mayo/aioli sauce that is on the table. I also dunked some of my burger in it. My dad got a hot dog and loved it - he’s not a verbose man but said also that the fries were the best he’d ever had (and he’s 85 and likes fries).
I appreciated the steak knife included to help handle the burger. Note the menu is one big page of burger variations and the other page hot dog variations.
Don’t hesitate to go there - I can’t imagine being disappointed! Of note: if you order out the fries will not be crispy. It’s not possible so please don’t complain.
Oh! For 4 people and an add on of gravy and extra cheese the cost was $57. Far cheaper than even McD’s. I don’t know where you can feed four with large amounts of left overs...
Read moreOn my way to work, I found myself in the small town of Gallup, NM. While I was there, I decided to take a look around and noticed a small restaurant in the corner of a business plaza, as soon as I walk through the door, Sonia and Juanita said Hi with a big smile and that when I was in the right place. They sat me down and started making conversation with me. They had recommended me wings since that's their specialty, I ordered the Ranch double dipped and garlic parmesan wings. These wings were so good and crispy that it reminded me of a place back home that unfortunately didn't survive the pandemic. The ranch was fresh and restaurant styled. I just wanted more and more. The food was so good that I decided to take a burger on my back home, Sonia and Juanita told me to get the Gallup Burger since it was one of their top 3 best sellers. The burger was so good with all its ingredients. I'm surprised I have never heard of them before. All its ingredients and conditions just complement each other it's like a flavor party in your mouth, and the food in break dancing in your taste buds. Are you passing by Gallup, NM? Stop at 505...
