Rocket Cafe — Restaurant in Gallup

My wife and I are traveling from Oklahoma back to Phoenix with 3 children, 2 of which are 3 and 1. We get to the hotel, look for places to eat and this place comes up so we thought we would give it a try. Placed the order at 6:30 pm and they told us 45 min for delivery. 7:45 my wife calls, they stated it is just leaving and should be to us shortly. It was 11 min drive from their location to the hotel we were staying in. Another 30 min go by, wife calls again and the women she spoke with stated she was going to call the driver and call us back, we received no phone call back. 15 min go by, wife calls them back again, they stated the driver got into an accident so they are going to remake the food. We asked for a refund at this point, our younger kids are upset, hungry and it’s past their bed time. She stated she couldn’t give us a refund because it was a 3rd party website, yet we got a receipt from them. My wife told them it’s fine, just remake it but I would come pick it up. They hung up on her and when my wife called back, she stated they were out of a lot of the items that we ordered......makes zero sense. They just happen to have enough to make our food and that was it? She then told my wife to call back Monday and hopefully they can get us refunded. I will be calling the bank to dispute the charge. Ridiculous...

The Rocket Cafe is a place that is near and dear to my heart but I must admit that the food has gotten a little sloppy. I understand that speed is necessary but presentation is key. Our familiar server Nancy was of course above and beyond. She is speedy and accurate as well as kind. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was because of the food. One of my children ordered the child's ravioli plate which came with three very small raviolis and nothing on the side. My daughter unfortunately did not get full and I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the springtime pasta which was good but the pasta was overcooked and had way too much oil so I had to drain my plate before I ate. My last complaint comes from the big pieces of garlic in my plate. Now, I love garlic, but not in huge pieces as it came. A suggestion; the cooks need to take a bit more time to at least chop up the garlic. It seems as though they have become a bit unmotivated and lazy...

This WAS always my go to restaurant to eat at with family and friends. But eating there yesterday celebrating my brothers birthday, I had a horrible experience with the service and food. Right at the start, they didn’t take my drink just the rest of who I was with. I felt completely ignored and looked down on like I wasn’t fit to dine in there very time waitress would pass by our table then at that same time the waitress kept looking at me rudely and my family members seem that. Then I finally got my drink order in and order our meals came and two plates we found hair in. The first one was a burger plate and that one got fixed but then as I was eating my plate I finally seen hair in my garnish veggies I was already over the horrible experience and left that alone and paid for what they served even though we weren’t satisfied. I don’t plan on ever going back here, I felt like I was not welcome there....
