
I am 58 years old and have been training off and on for 20 years. I was looking for a new gym mainly for open gym where I could follow my own programming. āCrossFitā was new to me and, frankly, intimidating. However, I have been attending classes at CFDN for just over a month and am glad I decided to join and give it a try. I called and scheduled a tour of the gym with Brad. He introduced me to the gym, answered my questions and encouraged me to try a free class. I took him up on the offer and attended a class taught by Ashley. She was very welcoming as were all of the other participants. I was worried about some of the prescribed exercises and pace. However, Ashley spent time working with me on form and modifications if I couldnāt do the prescribed exercise. I have since taken classes with Josh and Brad. They also spent time with me on form and modifications. Donāt let the term CrossFit keep you from giving it a try. Even with modifications and sometimes slower pace, these are great workouts. Iām coming up on my one year anniversary at the gym, and I just enjoy coming to the workouts so much. When I started last year, I could only workout 2 days and I was sore for a whole week. Iām coming 4-5 days a week now! I look good, and I feel stronger, and itās all because of your team.
A special shout out to your afternoon crew, Lesley, Harrison and Theresa. They are always willing to go the extra step to make sure weāre understanding not only what weāre doing, but giving us tips on our form and things we can practice to get better. They make it such a fun place to be, and even though itās hard work, they do a spectacular job cheering us on!
Plus, when I started to feel some pain in my knee, Lesley sent me to Mario (at Palomino Physical Therapy) who got me back on my feet and helped me with workout mods while I healed!
I just feel like there arenāt enough nice things out there, so I wanted to take a minute and say thank you.

I have been very grateful for all the support and encouragement as I have made some big transitions through my fitness life. I am a mom of three and with two of my pregnancies I continued to do CrossFit as well as after. The coaches where alway there for me and made sure everything I was doing was safe, as well as to making sure I was get a good workout. Staying active during pregnancy was so important to me and they made it possible and never limited me but yet guided me. Truly CFDN is a big family who I turn to when Iām struggling as well as to celebrate my achievements. I think I look forward to the environment and friends more then working out so days lol. This gym is where I go to de-stress and level out when I feel out of control. If you are looking to start your fitness journey or you are in peak physical fitness I highly recommend CFDN itās more then just a gym, itās family, community, love/support, and a whole lot of awesome people working hard to meet their goals!...
