Yikes. I'm not sure about these thrift stores lately. Goodwill is very greedy so I avoid it and try and go to this one, but this store is also very greedy. I found a white shirt but it had a yellow stain on the belly about the an inch big, and gray dots right under the collar. I asked the short gray haired lady, who is the boss, if she could take $1.00 off the shirt because it had stains and I wasn't sure if I would be able to get them out. I pointed out all of the stains (4 altogether that I saw) and she told me that it looks like those belong on the shirt and aren't stains ๐ I said no, those are stains, you can 100% tell. You could tell someone even tried to get the yellow stain out because it was all smeared. I even looked the shirt up online to make sure they were stains and sure enough, those stains were not on the shirt online. She absolutely refused to give me $1 off, which kind of grossed me out so I told her I didn't want it. She then set it aside and gave me a folded up paper bag and told me to bag my stuff up...I have no problem bagging my own things but she did out of spite because I wasn't buying her stained shirt. These thrift stores get everything for free and then refuse to give people deals if there are stains. I find that to be so greedy. I will just purchase the shirt from the website. She also gave the lady before me a hard time with some sheets too. She was trying to charge her for each separate sheet when the tag said $2 for both top and bottom sheets. The lady before me said she didn't want the item then, and the older lady who works there said fine and set it aside with her little attitude. These people are suppose to be kind religious people. Yikes. I am blown away by how greedy these thrift stores are. People donate their items for free and they turn around and overcharge and act like they are better than you. I will never donate my...
ย ย ย Read moreI love going to St Vincent thrift store. Before Covid and after they always had great prices. That's why I shop there and I only donate to them. Every week they have a color tags that are on sale. The color tags are half off or 50 cents. Other thrift store that I use to shop at have changed. Goodwill stopped having color tags sales, they also over priced the things that people donated. I talked to a lot of people that agreed with me that they will no longer shop there or donate because of their greed. Double edge has change. They no longer take back their products. If you bought something that didn't fit you are sol. They also do their pricing by looking up an item and price the item just a little less than the original price. St Vincent is pricing their things for the people. All these people are getting these idems for free. Please if you donate your things please think why you are donating. Are you donating to make that place richer or are you helping people that don't have much money and they need...
ย ย ย Read moreTLDR: Very short hours, great deals for great cause.
Pros: Size-wise, this is probably the largest thrift store in all of the TC area, but I think that Goodwill has more inventory. Very eclectic variety of items, about %50 was clothing. Great selection of crafting supplies. Fantastic religious gift store inside. The employees are some of the kindest and most helpful people you'll ever meet at a thrift store. Prices are very good; so good I'd recommend making an additional donation if you can afford it. Store is organized very well.
Cons: Shortest working hours of any of any thrift store I've seen.
Good people truely helping the community and...
