Jimmy has A LOT of Transformers. There are alotta robots in disguise, to (fat) bastardize a line from Austin Powers. Jimmy probably has some Austin Powers toys, if memory serves me right. Jimmy has a lot of awesome toys and if you like many different brands, characters, styles of figures, you’re gonna spend a while going Back In Time, in Gastonia, NC.

Nestled in the cute, revitalizing old town Gastonia, I recently had the fortune of visiting this sweet shop celebrating the start of its second year in business and met proprietor Jimmy, who, despite what the amazing Transformers stock suggests, loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles most of all. Don’t worry, there are plenty of mutants and turtles, and mutants who are turtles. There are also mutant X-Men, the non-mutant hero Spider-Man, and just about any action figure line you can think of from yesteryear through today.

I spent about an hour perusing shelves and displays, coveting so much, but reminding myself about budgets and living spaces, so I couldn’t go crazy, and stuck with some sweet Micro Machine rides (I love the one that reminds me of the GI Joe Alley Viper, along with Darkseid, and finishing off my joy with a rendition of Mr. Freeze from a show I’ve never seem. He just looked so cool, I couldn’t pass that figure by, dropping the last of my cash on Jimmy’s counter.

When you decide to go Back In Time, do at at Jimmy’s shop. Meet the owner. Talk toy passions. Find a few packaged or loose figures, or both, and maybe some Hot Wheels or Matchbox cards. Grab an exclusive figure you can’t find elsewhere. Help usher in a new year with some deals that can be found within these walls that can hardly contain a time stream flood of memories and good nostalgia.

What can I say, this shop has only been opened for 2 months or so and they are already in my opinion the best collectible shop I’ve seen in The Carolinas in a long time !! Jimmy is a true collector at heart and that translates in his shop. From when I came in he was very helpful and went right to looking at my trades that I had. He was also helpful in helping me find what I was looking for. The moment you step in , the child in you comes back all at once. I had to set a budget for Myself due to the great stuff he had in the shop but I was able to find some rare figs that I had been looking for , for a while. If you are looking for something specific , I’m 90% Jimmy will have it in the shop. His prices are also very very fair, cause he knows what he has but also doesn’t try to screw over his customers. From now on , this will be my main stop for ninja turtle goodies. I can see this store growing much more in the long run , not because of what product they have but the awesome...

Back in Time Collectibles is the collectors dream store. They have everything you could possibly want "on card", "in box" or loose for a very fair price. I have been hunting a specific Marvel Legends figure for quite a while and found it loose after a few moments of browsing through the huge inventory the store offers. I live roughly an hour away from this location, but the the customer service and product availability makes it well worth the drive. Not only is the owner fair with his asking prices and trade in prices, he is also a very respectful, knowledgable, and professional and I ended up spending several hours in the store browsing and talking, when I thought I would just be trading in a few collectibles.
