Nice atmosphere. Good food. Lazy service. Goat cheese salad and grilled cheese were both delish. Salad came on a weird metal flat pizza plate with paper on it under the salad and none of the greens were cut. We got only a butter knife to cut it- but the paper ripped when you tried to cut the salad greens so there was paper cut up in the salad. A bit of an ordeal but delicious. Bar stools and chairs were wobbly all felt like they were going to collapse. Food was inexpensive and delicious. Fun couches and pool table. 2 of the 3 workers didn’t have masks on 12/12/20. You’re supposed to Go up to the bar to order- we waited there at the “order” cash register as the only non served customers for probably 5-10 minutes (and yes we asked for help) while the bartender washed cups 1 foot away and complained about how she was supposed to be gone already but continued to serve other people. All the while the other employee without a mask tried to work a coffee machine and make small talk. Weird vibes TBH. All around High risk, potential high reward. Also high risk for no mask zone if...
Read moreI had the pleasure of co-hosting a bridal shower at Gaston Pour House over the weekend. After scouring over so many establishments in the area and not finding the right fit, I got a call back from Chelsea and I knew right off she was the one for the job--I could tell she had her act together and knew I could trust her. She handled literally everything, making suggestions when needed but never pushy, and the space was perfect for the shower. Plenty of space and tables to eat and drink plus couches and comfy chairs for gift-opening and chatting. We did a brunch with mimosas, chicken and waffles, strata, fruit, and spinach dip. The strata, which I'd never had before, was especially delicious. Chelsea was a great hostess, making herself available when needed but largely just letting us celebrate the bride to be. Everyone loved it, there was plenty of food to go around, the cost was very reasonable, but most of all, it was the least stressful party I've ever hosted--I actually got to enjoy it myself! I highly recommend Chelsea for any special...
Read moreAfter coming here for a year, I can still say that I really like this little downtown spot. I don't go for the food because of my own dietary restrictions but everything looks great. I think the atmosphere is wonderful, inclusive, and just downright 'Gastonia'. The owner is really nice once you get to know him. The bar staff are always on point. I have never had a dirty wine glass, the prices are quite reasonable for all drinks, and the place is super clean. Wednesday is half price house wine bottles and I love the Dona Paula Red Blend. They do have an array of events such as wine dinners, local vendors that come in on the weekends, and different tasting events. I think this is exactly what Gastonia needs to get people out and about downtown. I'm really glad this place is here and look forward to another year of frequenting our local...
